
Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, has expressed condolences to Arise Television’s management after its anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, passed away.
Maduagwu, 29, who was also known as Sommie, tragically passed away on Monday morning in the Katampe, Abuja, area of her family.
Wike claimed in a statement on Tuesday that the police would prosecute the murderers of the Maduagwu.
The minister prayed for Somtochukwu’s soul’s repose, claiming that the death of her was a loss for both the Nigerian media and the entire country as a whole.

“It pains me that such a wonderful soul could be lost in its prime,” he said. It’s depressing, according to Wike’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, in a statement.
“Somtochukwu was brought to the Maitama General Hospital dead at around 4:30am on Monday, according to the report from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe.
The police will have access to a preliminary medical report while all efforts are made to decipher the circumstances surrounding her death.
“At this time, we will continue to pray for the Almighty God’s continued support for the Arise News staff and management, particularly Prince Nduka Obaigbena’s chairman and the family and friends left behind by the deceased.

Wike jokes that the murderers will be apprehended in the wake of the news anchor’s death.
The death of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, one of the Arise News Channel’s News Anchors, was described as tragic and painful by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, who expressed condolence to the Arise News Channel’s management and staff.
Lere Olayinka, the FCT Minister, prayed for the repose of Somtochukwu’s soul in a statement released on Tuesday, as per his Senior Special Assistant for Social media and Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, the minister’s statement. The police will find the cause of her death and bring those responsible to justice.
He claimed that the Arise News family, the Nigerian media, and the entire country as a whole were grieved by Somtochukwu’s passing.

At around 4:30 am on Monday, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, Somtochukwu, was taken to the Maitama General Hospital after being taken to the hospital as a result of the report from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Fasawe.
The police will have access to a preliminary medical report to support their investigation, and all efforts will be made to decipher the circumstances surrounding her death.
