
The Lagos State Police Command has pledged to take swift action against the state’s numerous street urchins who harass drivers.
The police have taken steps to address the situation, according to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, in a statement released on X on Saturday.
She noted that the Police Commissioner has ordered all tactical units to increase foot and vehicle patrols to make the streets more safe for residents.
Adebisi also urged people to continue cooperating with the police by providing relevant and timely information to support ongoing security operations.

Her response came after a user of X posted a story about a car that was being harassed by area boys in the Ogolonto neighborhood of Ikorodu who demanded money before allowing him to refuel.
The Lagos State Police Command has been informed of the situation involving street urchins harassing drivers, and swift action is already being taken.
The Commissioner of Police has mandated that all state tactical units increase foot and vehicle patrols to make the streets more safe for all residents.
