
In its ongoing efforts to improve internal security and safeguard citizens’ lives and property, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has made an announcement.
the successful rescue of five kidnapped victims, the demise of a well-known kidnapping syndicate, and the recovery of weapons and ammunition.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
On July 27, 2025, a group of armed kidnappers stormed Sangara Village in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State and abducted three people, including Gide Namata and Hamidu Namani.
He claimed that this led police to organize a coordinated search-and-rescue operation to Shanga Hills, where the kidnappers were tracked and engaged in a search and rescue operation alongside other local vigilantes and security agencies.
The criminals fled into the forest with various degrees of gunshot wounds as a result of the successful rescue of the three kidnapped victims during the encounter after being overrun by a fierce gunfight.
On the 15th of August 2025, police officers attached to the State Command were on a routine patrol around Dankade Village in Ribah District when they encountered a group of armed bandits and engaged them in a gunfight.
