In Buniyadi, the state’s governor’s office’s central government area, an AK-47 rifle was recovered, along with vigilantes, and the Yobe State Police Command successfully demolished a kidnapping den, rescued two abducted victims, and secured access to it in Buniyadi.
The success was reportedly brought about by a distress call from an eyewitness in Buni Yadi, according to the command’s spokesman, Dungus Abulkarim, who stormed the location after a gunfight with local residents.
Further, Abulkarim further explained that the suspects abandoned the victims and fled with injuries before leaving behind an AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 25 rounds of ammunition.
He stated in a press release that more intensive efforts are being made to apprehend the fugitive suspects while the victims were unharmed and taken to a hospital for medical examinations.

Following a resurgence of attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in the areas, the Senate has requested that the military immediately redeploy personnel and cutting-edge equipment to Borno and Yobe states.
The resolution came after more insurgent attacks took place in the North-East region, including the deaths of more than a dozen soldiers in Marte, Monguno Local Government Area on May 12 and an early-afternoon assault on Gajiram, the Nganzai Local Government Area headquarters.
While two-thirds of the local government areas in Borno were once under Boko Haram’s control, the joint task force’s efforts to reclaim the territories were successful, according to a motion made by the Senate Chief Whip, Tahir Munguno.
