Police Arrest Man Fleeing With ‘Wife’s Corpse’ On Motorcycle In Ogun

A motorcyclist who is being detained by the Ogun State Police Command claims to have been detained by its officers while delivering a new corpse to his wife.

The suspect was detained while conducting a stop-and-search in the state’s Yewa South Local Government Area’s Ilaro.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, made the disclosure in a statement released in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The Ogun State Police Command has once more stressed the value of routine stop-and-search operations, noting that Ilaro’s proactive policing led to the discovery of a suspected murder incident.

The Divisional Police Officer in Ilaro learned on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, that a suspected felon, Godonu Lowe ‘m ‘m ‘of Omolende Village via Idogo, was traveling on a motorcycle in an attempt to escape the community, according to her report.

Police officers interrogated the suspect and tied him to a sack that was tied to the back of his motorcycle, according to the PPRO.

The adult female’s corpse was later identified as his wife, according to the report. Around the neck, the body exhibited violent bleeding, which could indicate foul play.

At the crime scene, a blood-stained cutlass was found.

The police spokesperson stated that the prime suspect was detained while the victim’s remains were transported to the State Morgue in Ilaro for preservation and autopsy.
