Following the brutal murder of two of their fellow students, authorities in Kano State have confirmed the arrest of 11 students at the government-run boarding secondary school in Bichi.
The Kano State Police Command is looking into the incident, which shocked the neighborhood.
The two deceased students, Hamza Idris Tofawa and Umar Yusuf Dungurawa, are alleged to have been attacked by their peers using locally produced metal “Gwale-Gwale” objects.
The students are currently being interrogated to determine their roles in the killings, according to the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrests on Thursday.
In a message to Channels Television, Haruna stated that “eight students were detained over the incident, and the investigation is still pursuing the level of their individual involvement.”
He assured the general public that the command is committed to bringing justice to the victims and their families.
“We take this issue seriously,” we say. Once investigations are finished, the culprits will be charged, he added.

This unfortunate event has deeply sadden the Ministry of Education. Mohammad stated during the visit that we have launched an immediate investigation and will cooperate with security forces to stop this from happening in the future.

Under the condition of anonymity, a teacher at the school described the incident as “the most disturbing” in recent memory.
“This is something we never expected.” The teacher said, “It’s heartbreaking to lose such young lives in such a violent way.
Parents and guardians in the community want more security measures and swift justice for school buildings.
The bodies of the deceased students were being deposited at the Bichi General Hospital morgue at the time of this report, and a post-mortem examination is anticipated to be performed.
