At the Spanish Grand Prix, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri of McLaren took the win.

The Australian pushed Briton’s time record to 0.209 seconds, vaulting past the Australian, who had been faster on the first runs of qualifying but made an error on the final lap.

Third-fastest, third-fastest, and 0.302 seconds slower than Piastri, from Red Bull.

George Russell, a Mercedes driver, set the Dutchman’s lap time exactly equal, but he will start fourth because he did so a few seconds later.

Lewis Hamilton, a Ferrari teammate, defeated Charles Leclerc for the second time in a qualifying session this year to finish fifth, ahead of Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes.

Leclerc, Pierre Gasly of Alpine, Iscak Hadjar of Racing Bulls, and Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin finished in the top 10.

Piastri’s advantage suggests that McLaren’s decision to change a rule change to make front wings flex more for aerodynamic gain has not had an impact.

Following extensive lobbying by Red Bull, who hoped it would recoup some of McLaren’s performance, it was introduced by the governing body, the FIA.
