A tanker and a private car were involved in an explosion in Ibadan, the capital of the Oyo state.
At the intersection of Celica and Adegbayi, new Ife Road, Ibadan, reportedly on Thursday July 17th, at 6:30 PM.
Akinyinka Akinyemi, the general manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, made this disclosure in a statement released on Friday.
A crew of firemen led by ACFS Adeniyi Adesina arrived at the scene right away. A car was engulfed in flames and a tanker with a 33, 000 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) on board when it arrived.  ,

He claimed that the firemen “swung into action” by quickly containing the fire with chemical foam by preventing it from spreading to the nearby NNPC petrol station and nearby properties.

The federal and state fire services jointly extinguished the incident.

The fire incident occurred as a result of a brake failure and a tanker’s failure, which caused it to lose control, hit a Prado jeep and a car, then fell onto an open road and caught fire in the process, according to the release’s preliminary investigation .
The fire affected the tanker and a car, but no one was hurt, despite the jeep being pushed into a nearby gutter on impact.

The fire officials’ prompt action saved the nearby NNPC filling station and adjacent properties from the devastating fire, according to what was discovered.
