Before taking a lengthy break, Peter Kay has had a very successful comedy career. He is now back on tour.
After receiving a bizarre gift in the mail, Peter Kay admitted that he had turned down a sizable Netflix offer. The comedian’s famous face is currently touring with him.
He’s also known for being being iconic TV show Phoenix Nights and it seems that Netflix were keen to put the series on the streaming platform. Peter said that the streaming giants got in touch with him to ask if he’d want to get involved.
However, it was a bizarre gift that they sent which put him off making the deal. Peter made an appearance on Capital Breakfast. where he discussed the odd situation. Speaking to Jordan North, Sian Welby and Chris Stark, Peter told them that Netflix sent him an air fryer in the post to try and “sweeten” him up.

The comedian responded, “I got one free from Netflix,” explaining what transpired. They contacted me last year because they wanted to make Phoenix Nights available on Netflix.
They called me up and said, “Can we license some of your shows to put on Netflix?” Anyway, I received a lot of paperwork from them. In essence, it’s currently not very politically correct. Do you know what I mean when I say that this was made in a historical context?
As he told the story, everyone laughed as he admitted they weren’t too impressed by the gift. He continued, “I just said, I don’t really want a warning before that, I’m not interested in that.” I simply responded, “No, I’ll leave it.” Anyway, I received an air fryer from them.
Peter then made fun of the air fryer’s brand, saying he wished he had been given a Ninja one. Anyway, the Netflix air fryer arrived. It wasn’t even a Ninja, but it was a Phillips air fryer. But he said, “I was appreciative.”
Peter revealed to the radio hosts that he has already written a Phoenix Nights movie adaptation. He is not yet ready to make the movie, though, because he worries about using “bad makeup” instead.
He said, “I’ve written Phoenix Nights.” Additionally, it has been written and finished. However, I’m awaiting the completion of the de-aging process.
The star said that the film involves flashbacks which would require makeup to be used to make the actors look like their younger selves but he doesn’t think the technology used is good enough to make this look realistic yet.
Because the plot contains a lot of historical flashbacks, he continued, “I don’t want to use really bad makeup to make people look young.” Seriously, I’ve been considering it for a while after the tour is over. I’ve been considering the de-aging capabilities of technology.
