Later this year, Peter Kay and Sara Cox will be performing two special performances at Salford’s Lowry’s Lyric Theatre, with tickets already on sale for the matinee performances.
Fans were issued an apology over “issues” related to tickets for two Peter Kay events that went on sale earlier today. Some had expressed difficulty in securing seats for the comedian’s upcoming two shows with radio host Sara Cox.
Peter, 51, and Sara, 50, are set to appear at the Lowry’s Lyric Theatre in Salford on September 14. Tickets for Peter Kay In Conversation with Sara Cox, which will have a matinee and an evening show, went on sale at 10am today.
However, a number of fans posted about glaring issues shortly after the shows were scheduled to sell out on social media. On X, one user wrote, “My ticket is in my basket. Ever since, I’ve been stranded on the pay page.
Was in a queue before it crashed, according to another fan who later claimed to have managed to obtain a ticket. Still not functioning. Someone else said, “I got mine this morning after a lot of trouble trying to get some.”
A fourth person wrote, “Had three tickets in my basket and then couldn’t finish purchasing, and when I tried to get back in, everything was almost gone.” I’m afraid I won’t be able to celebrate my birthday at the Lowry. No luck for me, a fan said.
The Lowry issued an apology over the situation on Instagram earlier today. In an initial statement shared this morning, the theatre and gallery complex said that it would try to resolve “issues” with booking tickets that it was aware of.
We are aware of the issues with booking tickets this morning, according to the post, which was then shared by Peter’s accounts on social media earlier today. As we work to resolve the issue, kindly bear with us. Then it said, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
The Lowry thanked fans for their patience with the situation in a later post. Thank you for your patience as we worked with our ticketing system this morning. Please try again because seats are still available.
The Lowry then announced that the two shows had sold out about three hours after its initial post. It once more made reference to previous issues, stating that “Peter Kay in conversation with Sara Cox is now sold out!” Thank you for your patience as we worked through the ticketing system issues.
Peter and Sara will reflect on both his life and career, according to the announcement. It’s been speculated that it will cover Peter Kay’s Diary, his upcoming memoir, will be included.
Peter’s memoir was announced earlier this month. As reported at the time, it’s been described as his “most personal and hilarious book yet,” with it said to take readers on a “laugh-out-loud journey through his life, month by month”.
The Lowry’s events have been announced as “bringing the laughter and stories to a nationwide audience,” and they have been specially recorded for broadcast. Additionally, organizers have stated that all profits will go to Crescent Foodbank Bolton in aid of Bolton Hospice &.
