The Christmas traditions of her blended family, one of which her husband Sir Rod Stewart refuses to participate in, have been covered in Loose Women presenter Penny Lancaster’s open letter.

Penny Lancaster has taken aim at one of her husband Sir Rod Stewart’s “strange” Christmas preferences, as he refuses to join in with her favourite tradition.

The former model revealed that Rod “won’t partake” in her festive ritual, but that she does so each year with a “posh breakfast” and a glass of bubbly.

Speaking about Stewart family Christmas customs, Loose Women star Penny told Woman Magazine: “We like a posh breakfast and I’ll have a glass of champagne with eggs and smoked salmon.

Rod won’t drink the morning’s champagne. He is not even interested in champagne! “.

The Hot Legs legend avoids a glass of fizz in the morning, but Penny has revealed that Rod’s festive custom includes taking their two sons, Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14, to a pub with them on Christmas Day.

Rod’s thought was that we needed to go to the pub on Christmas Day. A pint of Guinness and a glass of rosé are his current favorite two drinks, which is a strange combination.

“Not in one glass, of course,” The mother-of-two made it clear.

He just sees the house being turned around, according to Penny, who also admitted that she is much more excited about decorating their home during the holidays than her husband is.

Rod may have something to look forward to this year, as Penny revealed that Ruby, Liam, and Sean, the rocker’s younger children, will travel from America, along with the rocker’s young grandchildren.

Penny so heartily said, “As my boys get older, having the grandchildren to stay will reignite the magic that you get when you see the festive period through the eyes of a child.”

Alastair and Aiden are the children of Rod and five different women. He has four daughters – Sarah, 61, Kimberly, 46, Ruby, 38, and Renee, 33 – and two grown-up sons – Sean, 45 and Liam, 31.

The family has also adopted a fresh tradition for the New Year, as Penny announced on January 1st that Alastair and Aiden had celebrated their first Hogmanay, with the boys donning traditional Scottish kilts alongside their father in a heartwarming family photo on Instagram.
