Paul Gallagher, Liam and Noel Gallagher’s brother, was charged with rape and a number of other sexual crimes when they appeared in court this week.
Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher’s brother, Paul Gallagher, appeared in court this week, accused of rape and a string of other sexual offences, which he denies. The 59-year-old older brother of the Oasis stars spoke only to confirm his name, age and address before being granted conditional bail. His lawyer said he would be pleading not guilty to the charges.
He is also accused of coercive and controlling behavior, sexual assault, three counts of intentionally strangulating, two counts of threatening death, and assault that actually causes bodily harm. According to previous statements from the Metropolitan Police, the alleged offences occurred between 2022 and 2024.
On September 24, he will show up in Harrow Crown Court. His legal team, Carson Kaye Solicitors, stated in a statement last month that “Mr. Gallagher has consistently interacted with the police throughout their investigation and has consistently refuted any allegations made against him.
He looks forward to removing his name, but our client is unable to comment further because the legal proceedings are in full swing.
Paul is the eldest of the Gallagher brothers, having been born seven years earlier than Liam and one year earlier than Noel. In his 1997 book Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis, Paul explained why he split from the other two brothers when they formed the band.
The book, which Terry Christian and Liam and Noel co-authored, detailed how they made it clear that they didn’t want Paul to be a part of the well-known band when they rejected his 1993 offer to sell their goods.
Paul worked for Oasis’ label Creation Records after signing, despite never being a member of the band. He oversaw bands and occasionally served as DJ at events.
He previously worked on sports stories for Sky and Teletext. I lead a typical life, I live in the lower middle class, as Paul once said to RGM Music.
In the 2019 documentary As It Was, Liam and Peggy reveal Paul’s mother, Peggy, had previously purchased presents for his brothers after landing his first-ever job.
Before Liam realized that Paul was a good lad, Peggy recalled to him saying, “Paul would give you the money to go to the stores for cigarettes and buy your trainers and everything.”
Paul claimed to have left music to his brother while appearing on the podcast about the Michael Anthony Show, saying, “I can sing. What the f*** are you doing singing when there are two people in your family who can sing? I don’t sing anymore. “Do something else. “
When asked if he could play the guitar, he replied, “No, I can’t do that ***.” That’s why I gave it to Noel when I was seven. I was told to do something, or my mother would murder me for spending money on a fake guitar. Have it . Take it away. “
Paul had said, “Um, yeah, great, they’re 300 miles away, and I’m in Manchester,” when he was talking about his relationship with his brothers on The Late Late Show in 1996. We both work for the same company, so we occasionally see each other. “It’s alright.
