Mark Wilson has been appointed as Partick Thistle’s permanent manager.
Wilson, 40, replaced Brian Graham as the Under-18s coach in February as the interim manager.
Despite thistle’s championship rivals granting him permission to speak with the Firhill club last week, Dougie Imrie is still there despite Graham’s involvement in the promotion.
Former Dunfermline boss James McPake and former Celtic defender Paul Caddis, who is now in charge of Hereford, were reportedly in conversation with Ian Baraclough, the new Jags director of football.
It has taken us longer than we anticipated to make this announcement, especially given the high level of rumors this week, according to Thistle Chairman Richard Beastall, who also understands that supporters will be upset.
“We think Mark would make a good match for Partick Thistle,” the company said. His expertise and commitment to advancing our own talent were evident in his leadership on the training field, in the dressing room, and during matches, which contributed to a memorable season-end.
We always understood that Mark would be a significant component of our future goals throughout the entire process.
Wilson described his appointment as “I’m really pleased to be the head coach at Partick Thistle and I can’t wait to start.” I’m looking forward to a busy summer, but it will be a busy one.
The morning after the Scottish Premiership play-off semi-final defeat, Graham left as manager of Thistle’s women’s team.
The striker expressed doubts about his ability to stay at the club if he and interim co-manager Wilson did not become permanent.
When Kris Doolan left the Scottish Women’s Premier League team in February, the 37-year-old assumed the position alongside Wilson. She was then appointed manager of the Scottish Women’s Premier League team.
Doolan left Thistle after two years in charge, leaving the Jags, who are currently fourth in the division and have lost three of their previous four games.
