Palmer ‘very, very happy’ at Chelsea, says Rosenior

Due to his connections to Manchester United, the 23-year-old has been called out as missing life in the north and raised in Manchester.

Despite having attended Manchester City’s academy before joining Chelsea for £42 million in 2023, Palmer is reputed to have been a boyhood United fan.

In August 2024, he agreed to extend his two-year contract, which would allow him to stay with the club until 2033.

Rosenior said, “Cole seems very, very happy to be here, and I’ve had numerous conversations with him.”

After dealing with a troubling groin injury, Palmer has managed to cut a frustrated figure this season.

After he hardly scored a second-half penalty against Brentford and went straight down the tunnel following Chelsea’s 20-0 Premier League win over Chelsea last weekend, speculation grew about his future.

Rosenior added, “There was frustration in the Brentford game, not because he wasn’t happy here, but because he couldn’t perform at the club’s level.”

The club’s job is to consistently help him perform at his desired level, according to my job and that of the club.

Palmer suffered a minor thigh injury in Chelsea’s 1–0 Champions League defeat to Pafos in midweek, but the Blues boss said they will assess his recovery from training “before Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace.”

Filip Jorgensen will miss out, despite Rosenior’s announcement that he will not be as injured as first feared and could be available for Napoli’s Champions League game on Wednesday.
