Just before they officially quit their positions in the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a secret plan. According to a royal author, they didn’t even inform their nanny about the plans because they were so worried about the details being leaked.
A royal author claims that some staff members were teary-eyed after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s six-week getaway before their sensationally self-exile from royal life was so secret that even their nanny was unaware of their plans.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to Canada in the fall of 2019 before returning to the UK to reveal their shocking exit in early 2020. The Sussexes wrote in a message during that time that they wished you a very happy Thanksgiving from our family.
The maple leaf emoji that was included with their Thanksgiving note, despite being a big secret at the time, turned out to be a significant omen in retrospect. Archie and Meghan’s son, Archie, will also be traveling with their son, Doria Ragland, according to the rumors.
Archie missed the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations until 2022 when she returned to the UK. Meghan and Meghan left to look after him a few days after they were by themselves in January 2020.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace remained tight-lipped about the couple’s whereabouts in the autumn of 2019 but confirmed the couple wouldn’t be joining the Royal Family at Sandringham for Christmas.
Before Harry and Meghan’s dazzling announcement weeks later, there were rumors of a potential royal feud.
In his book, Courters, royal author Valentine Low went into great detail about the mystery surrounding Harry and Meghan’s location in the weeks leading up to Megxit. He wrote, “Our escape was planned with the greatest secrecy when Harry and Meghan traveled to Canada for their six-week break in November 2019.
Meghan was so worried that the couple wouldn’t even tell their nanny, Lorren, where they were going when it was revealed that it was supposed to be “family time,” according to the Palace, and it definitely shouldn’t be seen as a vacation.
“‘What sort of weather should I pack for?’ she asked. According to one source, she did not know where they were going until the plane – a private jet, not Air Canada, as claimed by [the book] Finding Freedom – was in the air. Meanwhile, staff had been growing increasingly suspicious about the couple’s long-term intentions.”
He revealed that palace workers were already growing wary that Harry and Meghan might relocate to America permanently, until Meghan disclosed to one of her staff members that they wouldn’t be returning, , the Express reports.
The writer stated: “The fact that they had taken all their personal belongings with them to Canada, and their two dogs, seemed quite a big hint.
Nothing was until Meghan told a member of her personal staff at the end of the year that they were not returning.
“The rest of the team did not learn until the couple met at Buckingham Palace at the beginning of January,” the team said. They struggled to accept that their situation was being dumped. Some of the people wept.
On 8 January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shocked the world by announcing their decision to step down as senior working royals.
A royal gathering convened in Sandringham to discuss the issue in what has since been referred to as the “Sandringham Summit,” which was led by the late Queen Elizabeth II, just a few days later, on January 13.
The meeting saw the late monarch, King Charles, Prince William and Harry in attendance, however Meghan was notably absent.
According to reports at the time, the Sussexes didn’t believe it was “necessary for the duchess to join.”
The Queen stated in a statement following the “summit” that “today my family and I had very positive discussions about the future of my grandson and his family.”
Harry and Meghan’s desire to start a new life as a young family is fully supported by my family and I.
