Yeremy Pino from Villarreal has been signed by Crystal Palace for up to £26 million.

The 22-year-old will be available for Sunday’s Premier League game at Aston Villa under a five-year contract.

Pino’s contract stipulated a £69 million release clause, but Villarreal chose to accept Palace’s offer with less than two years left on his.

“We’re thrilled that Yeremy, an exciting young talent with an already impressive record in domestic, european, and international football,” said Palace chairman Steve Parish.

He is a player whose talents Palace fans will particularly appreciate, and I look forward to seeing him leave Selhurst Park with an exciting season in store. “It will be a great season for the club, competing on numerous fronts,” he said.

Pino made 133 Villarreal appearances after making his 2020 debut through Las Palmas’ youth organization.

In his final 34 league games last year, he scored four goals to help his team finish fifth and earn a place in the Champions League.

Since making his Spain debut in 2021, Pino has also scored three goals in 15 games.

Following Eberechi Eze’s £60m move to Arsenal last week, Palace signed him.

After Walter Benitez’s free transfer from PSV Eindhoven and Borna’s £3 million move from Ajax, the Eagles signed him for the third time this summer.
