Palace issue major King Charles update after hospital stay as Italy tour looms

King Charles is getting ready for his usual workweek just days after having to postpone engagements due to side effects from his cancer treatment. After experiencing “temporary side effects,” which Charles called a “bump in the road,” Charles decided to make a busy day off to Birmingham on Friday to focus on his recovery.

The King has arrived at Windsor Castle to begin his workweek, which includes a mix of public appearances, state obligations, and private meetings. He spent a restful weekend at Highgrove. According to what sources, one or two additional appointments for this week have been rescheduled to maintain a healthy balance in advance of the state visit to Italy the following week.

Since being diagnosed with cancer in February of last year, Charles, 76, has been receiving weekly hospital care.
