Due to the ongoing repercussions from Sunday’s game against India, Pakistan’s match against the United Arab Emirates at the Asia Cup started an hour late in Dubai.

The two nations’ first encounter since the military conflict earlier this year, according to Pakistan, and claim match referee Andy Pycroft instructed their captain Salman Agha not to shake hands with his Indian counterpart at the toss.

In response, Pakistan requested that Pycroft, who serves as the UAE’s match referee, be made to leave the officiating position.

Although the team hotel was where the talks were going, their players did not leave the team until about 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Shortly before their departure, Mohsin Naqvi, the chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), spoke with Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja.

Soon after, organizers announced the start time of the match at 16:30 BST. In a subsequent PCB statement, Pycroft apologized to “the manager and captain of the Pakistan cricket team.”

In their first Super Four game, Pakistan will face India in Dubai on Sunday if they defeat them, which could prolong the story.

Cricket has recently experienced an impact as a result of India and Pakistan relations.

After refusing to travel to host Pakistan, they have already decided not to play each other outside of global competitions, and India’s Champions Trophy matches were moved to Dubai earlier this year.

The Women’s World Cup will be held in Sri Lanka for Pakistan, but they will not be going to India for the next edition.
