Ozzy Osbourne’s death certificate was made public after his untimely passing in July of this year, but his son Jack has since revealed a fact that was left out of the document.

Ozzy Osbourne, the lead singer of Black Sabbath and the guitarist of the band, was described on his death certificate as a “rock legend, songwriter, and performer.” He would have turned 77 today.

Jack Osbourne, the late rocker’s son, has now revealed that he initially wanted to include another significant detail but was turned down because of an unexpected Royal protocol.

On the latest episode of his Trying Not To Die Podcast, recorded before he ventured into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Jack confessed that he and his sister Kelly had a bit of a giggle while trying to encapsulate their famous father’s profession for the official document.

He recalled that when the registrar asked, “OK, so what do you want to put for his occupation? We were in this very old building in England, in the countryside,” with my dad’s [death certificate]. And my sister and I are kind of like, “Alright, what do we put there? ” What conditions must be met?

And so we added “songwriter,” performer, and then, at the end, I thought, “Can I put Rock God?” and the woman laughed and said, “Let me see if I can get that approved,” so she went back and said, “We can’t do Rock God.”

Jack then suggested putting his father’s moniker, “Prince of Darkness,” on the certificate, but this suggestion was quickly rejected because it referred to members of the Royal Family.

He continued, “And I was like, Prince of Darkness, can you do it?” And she said, “There is a Royal Family, so we can’t do Prince.” “

In the end, Jack chose “rock legend,” believing that it would be the most appropriate description of his legendary father’s career.

The reality star has been openly discussing his grief with former campmate Eddie Kadi on I’m A Celebrity in recent weeks. Jack became clearly emotional while talking about his father.

As Jack shared with Eddie what he misses most about Ozzy, Jack brushed away tears by saying, “Just his energy, he had this force, so hard to describe, he had this energy, it was like, he swallowed the galaxy and didn’t know what to do with it, it’s the only way to ever describe it.”

He could not say anything, and all he had was saying was, “I miss it, and his humor, f**** he was funny, definitely miss his jokes,” he said.

Jack is preparing to face the ‘Dangerous Discoveries’ Bushtucker Trial in Wednesday evening’s episode of the ITV programme, which will see him courageously hunting for stars in various gruesome locations to secure food for his fellow campmates.
