I’ve never been a fan of sweet fragrances, rather opting for fresh, citrus scents as my go-to. I wanted to find a scent that I actually liked and felt good about because of the rapid rise in popularity of Gourmand candles. And I’ve finally been converted thanks to &amp, Other Stories Perfect Pistachio Eau De Toilette, £32.

Due to the popular Dubai chocolate bar that has been popular online over the past few months, pistachio has become a bit of a trending ingredient. Subsequently, pistachio has woven its way into everything from food to beauty products and fashion, and I can’t pretend that I’m not enjoying it.

So when I spotted &amp, Other Stories pistachio fragrance, I knew I had to give it a go. The main notes are pistachio nuts, warm milk and hazelnut, with the base notes being candied vanilla, sandalwood and musk. The result is a rich, creamy, almost chocolate-like smell combined with the woody musk to create a grown-up Gourmand fragrance.

&amp, Other Stories Perfect Pistachio EDT review

Perfect Pistachio is currently the brand’s fragrance spotlight of the month, which is what inspired me to try this out, according to the Instagram account of &amp, Other Stories. And I’m so happy I did. I don’t really like overly sweet Gourmand fragrances because they leave the skin feeling a little too sick, as I previously said. However, Perfect Pistachio has completely changed my mind.

It was frustrating that my sense of smell didn’t reflect that fact because I have a sweet tooth. Perfect Pistachion smelt mature, which is what I liked most about it. I was younger when I first started liking sweet perfumes because I had more child-like scents than that, so I never got on with them. However, this scent has changed my perspective on sweet perfumes.

This EDT is so affordable at £32 for the bottle (Grace Salmon)

I gave the scent a try at a dinner with my friends, and I’ve never had such glowing reviews of it in my life. When I explained to my friends that it was a high-street brand and only £2, they couldn’t believe it.
I’m actually a fan of more affordable, high-street fragrances over luxury ones, as I end up using them more. I’m less nervous about wasting the product or losing the bottle due to lower price points, and therefore, get way more cost per wear out of them, and this one is no exception.

The perfume only bothered me for a few hours, or so, because it didn’t really stay on me for very long. This isn’t the worst thing ever, given the price and the fact that it’s an Eau de Toilette. Knowing that I can simply pop into my neighborhood store and purchase another one for less than £40, I’d be happy to use it more frequently.

Perfect Pistachio smells much more expensive than its modest price tag, so I’m excited to try some more Gourmand fragrances now that this scent has convinced me.

Some other pistachio scents I would like to try next include Kayali’s Yum Pistachio Gelato 33 Eau de Parfum Intense, £79, DS &amp, Durga Pistachio, £155, and Marks &amp, Spencer’s ultra-affordable Sweet Pistachio Eau de Toilette, £6.
