The Commission’s Information Officer, Sadiat Isiaka, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

She claimed that Barrister Hashim Abioye, the OSIEC’s chairman, congratulated the elected chairmen on their victory and urged them to act as good citizens in service to the people.

Meanwhile, the state chapter of the PDPhas commended electorates for exercising their democratic rights in Saturday’s local government elections.

The party’s chairman in Osun, Hon. Sunday Bisi, described the voters as the heroes of democracy.

Bisi praised the Osun electorates for successfully navigating the needless provocation and harassment from compromised security personnel, particularly the Police, in an attempt to disrupt the elections, in a statement released on Sunday. ”

“Before and on Saturday, the will of our people for democracy was greatly tested by anti-democratic elements. The right of Osun people to choose those who manage their affairs at the grassroots is in grave danger, Bisi said, from biased opinions to obscene advice.

“Everything was put into stopping the election, albeit, illegally. The Osun people rose up and asserted their right to vote and be voted for in a challenging situation that reminded them of the military’s dark era. We as a party are extremely proud of the people and recognize them as the embodiment of democracy.

As a party, we applaud the courage of the Osun electorates, who have shown the world that authoritarianism has no place in our country. Despite the irrational force and threats the anti-democratics made against them, we thank them for refusing to give up their democratic rights. ”

Bisi also urged security forces to detain one Ademoroti Adeboye, noting that the violence that took place days before the election.

According to the PDP Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) allegedly tried to stop the election.

We are deeply concerned that the APC thugs harmed innocent voters by wounding many others in the state and injuring many others. The culprits in Ilesa East LG must not flee justice, as the events there have been.

Ademoroti Adeboye (aka Germani), a well-known associate of former Osun State House of Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye, shot him because he wanted to exercise his right to vote, but Asilo Ifeoluwa was just an innocent voter.
