Ondo Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader Resign

Ondo Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader Resign

Abayomi Akinruntan, the deputy speaker of the state assembly, has resigned.

Akinruntan, who represents Ilaje Constituency 1, cited as justification his decision that the state’s traditional zoning system should be upheld.

Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, the Assembly’s Majority Leader, resigned in a similar manner, demonstrating the same political sensitivity.

Ololade Gbegudu, who represents Okitipupa Constituency 2, took the oath of office following Akinruntan’s resignation.

Olatunji Oshati, who represents the Ose Constituency, was elected in the place of Ogunmolasuyi as the new majority leader.

Olamide Oladiji, the house’s speaker, praised the former Deputy Speaker and Majority Leader for their commitment to the state’s citizens.

Akinruntan is a native of Ilaje Local Government Area, just like Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of the state.
