Olly Murs pays emotional tribute to Caroline Flack before surprise Anastacia debut

Olly Murs, a former X Factor star, performed a surprise duet with Anastacia on Radio 2 in the Park and shared a moving tribute to his late friend Caroline Flack.

Olly Murs replaced one pop diva for another during his slot performing at Radio 2 In The Park today.

The singer, who recently became a dad for the second time, brought Anastacia on stage to perform his 2015 song Up, which he originally performed with Demi Lovato.

During his set, Olly also paid tribute to his late friend Caroline Flack. The dad-of-two, who hosted The X Factor for one series with the late Love Island presenter, dedicated a song in her honour and admitted he still gets emotional thinking about her passing.

Olly assured the audience that despite only rehearsing twice, they would deliver a “flawless performance” before taking Anastacia off stage.

Olly remarked to his hometown audience, “Essex, it’s good to be home – it’s good to be back in Chelmsford.” By inviting Anastacia to perform his 2015 hit “Up,” which was originally a duo with Demi Lovato, on stage,lly surprised the fans.

He also expressed his joy just three days after having his second child. Wife, I’m so sorry I’m here at Hylands Park with all these lovely people, he said to his partner at home. I promise to be home when I finish loving you.

Olly paid tribute to Caroline Flack, his late friend, in his song “Dear Darlin’,” and acknowledged that it was one of his most difficult songs to sing since her passing. He acknowledged how much he misses Caroline and how he hadn’t anticipated how much the song would mean to his close friends. In February 2020, Caroline committed suicide.

Olly stated as he introduced the song, “This is one of my hardest songs to sing.” Miss Caroline Flack, a very significant person in my life, passed away five years ago. Five years ago, she committed suicide, and I long for her. I wish she was here today.

I didn’t realize how much of an impact this song would have on both my life and those around me, especially some of my fans who are here tonight. So I’d love you guys to sing this song if there is someone you wish was here today or someone you miss terribly.

With her noughties hits, One Day in Your Life, Anastacia, a legend, delighted Radio 2 in the Park audience in Essex. She surprised the audience by inviting Radio 2’s own Rylan for a Left Outside Alone performance.

Anastacia expressed her love for Essex after their unforgettable duet. She wrapped up her collection with this year’s 25th anniversary film I’m Outta Love. Anastacia declared, “I love Radio 2! ” as she came to a close to her soulful performance.

The pop legend recently opened up to the Mirror and revealed the heartbreaking truth behind her biggest hit. Anastacia was just three years old when her parents separated, and her dad, Robert, left the family home and became estranged from his daughter.

Although he attempted to make contact, she remained estranged from him until he died in 2005. This estrangement runs through one of Anastacia’s biggest songs, Left Outside Alone.
