After the star abruptly cancels his Dubai show just before he was scheduled to perform onstage, Olly Murs fans were left with a lull.
The 40-year-old singer had planned to play at Bla Bla Dubai on Thursday night, but a throat infection prevented her from doing so.
Taking to his Instagram stories to announce the disappointing news, Olly penned over a black background: “To everyone here in Dubai, unfortunately due to doctor’s orders I am having to cancel tonight’s show at Bla-Bla because of a throat infection. I’m so gutted. I’m eager to return right away, and I’ll let you know any new dates as soon as possible! Olly x”.
Olly and Mark Wright will be hosting a brand-new Saturday breakfast show on Heart Radio, just days after Olly announced the shocking news on Instagram. Sharing a promo video with Mark on Instagram, the station’s Instagram read: “Look who it is… Wrighty and Mursy taking over! Olly and Mark’s brand-new Saturday breakfast program will begin at 9am on March 1st.
Speaking on the new show, the Dear Darling singer said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be sharing my Saturday mornings with Wrighty &, the Heart listeners. Can you believe it? They actually gave us our own radio show! ?
” We have such a laugh off air, so I know we’ll have a great time doing this together. Expect plenty of banter, big entertainment, and obviously a bit of healthy competition. Can’t wait!! “
Olly and Mark have known each other for a while, and they are thought to have first forged a friendship when they both participated in the 2016 Soccer Aid charity football match. Since finishing runner-up on the sixth series of The X-Factor in 2009, Olly has stayed prominent in the spotlight. As well as a huge music career, he went on to co-present The Xtra Factor in 2011, alongside Caroline Flack.
In his personal life, the singer married his partner Amelia Tank on Osea Island, Essex, in 2023. The couple welcommed their first daughter, Madison, on April 17, 2024. Our mini murs has arrived, the couple announced her birth on social media along with a picture of the couple holding their child in a car seat. We already adore you dearly, Madison.
