Oasis star Noel Gallagher shared a message to the crowd at Heaton Park during the band’s Wednesday night gig – which was their third out of five sold-out homecoming shows
Noel Gallagher had Oasis fans erupting into cheers as he issued a touching five word message to the crowd at Heaton Park, Manchester on Wednesday evening.
Noel, 58, his brother Liam Gallagher, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, Joey Waronker, Andy Bell and Gem Archer performed in front of an 80,000 strong crowd last night – while hundreds more gathered once again at the now-nicknamed Gallagher Hill, despite a huge fence being erected in a bid to stop ticketless fans from getting a glimpse of the stage action.
As the group were met with high energy for the third out of the five homecoming gigs at Heaton Park, Noel stopped to share a message to the Champagne Supernova band’s adoring fans.
Noel was heard gushing to the audience: “Nobody’s got fans like this.” He then added: “Nobody’s got fans like this. No one. Nobody.” The crowd then erupted into cheers to share their appreciation for Noel’s sweet message.
The group continue their five dates of performances at Heaton Park this week, after they opened their tour earlier this month at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium – which marked the first time in 16 years once-warring brothers Liam and Noel had shared a stage.
Oasis will then tour to other parts of the UK – including London and Edinburgh – before heading off to perform around the rest of world including Ireland, Canada and the United States of America.
Thousands of fans have already seen the brothers reunite with their band, but one particularly important person is yet to see Noel and Liam do their thing just yet; their loving mum Peggy Gallagher.
While 82-year-old Peggy is thrilled Noel and Liam have reunited their band, she had shared plans to see them at Heaton Park as she still lives in Manchester, where she brought up her three sons in Burnage. But the Mirror understands Peggy will be forced to wait to see them later on the tour, in a box or with seating and easier access to get to and from the show due to issues with her health.
Heaton Park is a standing only venue, with the VIP area consisting of a viewing platform for fans. An Oasis source told us yesterday: “Peggy is really keen to go and see Oasis again and couldn’t be more proud reading about the shows in Cardiff and Manchester. But her health comes first and Liam and Noel want her to be comfortable if she does come to see the band. She had a recent knee operation so needs a comfortable spot if she is going to go to one of the shows and be there for a few hours.
“They’ll both be spending time with her whilst they are in Manchester but they’ll hold off getting her to a show.
“Somewhere like Dublin or Wembley is a more likely venue where she can be treated like a queen with any food she wants and there is better access and transport options.”
