Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher will be performing five epic homecoming concerts at Heaton Park in Manchester between July 11 and 20 – with the price of a pint now revealed
Fans of Oasis in Manchester are gearing up for their Heaton Park gigs, taking part over the next week over five dates. Liam and Noel Gallagher performed their first concerts after 16 years in Cardiff last weekend, much to the delight of thousands of longtime fans who waited years for a reunion between the previously warring brothers.
During their two nights in Cardiff, fans were fuming over the price of pints. One pint set fans back £8.20 and a four-pint jug set fans back £31, forcing fans to pre-drink at pubs near the stadium. However, there is a huge difference in drink prices in Manchester as fans descend on the city for the Heaton Park concerts, which has Cast and Richard Ashcroft opening for the brothers.
It has now been confirmed that a pint of lager and cider will be priced at £6.50, saving fans almost £2. Merchandise pricing was also recently revealed, with key rings costing £10, a poster going for £40, and a T-shirt costing £40.
Oasis mania is already sweeping the city with Noel being pictured leaving Gary Neville’s Stock Exchange hotel, Liam’s voice becoming the soundtrack to the tram system and fans packing out pubs and snapping up merchandise as they revel in the long-awaited Gallagher homecoming.
Hours before the gig, the band issued a severe weather warning to fans travelling in. They urged concert goers to be prepared for ‘extreme heat and sun.’
“Please prepare for extreme sun and heat. Wear sun screen. Stay hydrated – at the concert and when travelling. Wear a (bucket) hat. Where possible stay in the shade. Look after yourselves and each other,” they said on social media. The temperature in Heaton Park is currently 28 degrees.
Ahead of their five sold-out performances between 11-20 July at Manchester’s Heaton Park, promoters SJM also posted a warning to fans as the UK braces for yet another heatwave.
“With a very hot weather forecast on both Friday and Saturday, please stay hydrated, you will be permitted to bring a sealed bottle of water up to 500ml. This must be collapsible plastic,” SJM said in a statement.
“Solid plastic, metal etc containers will not be permitted on the grounds of safety. Bottles with broken seals will be emptied. There is free water to refill your bottle on site.”
The statement added: “Wear sunscreen, you will be permitted to bring in a small bottle 200ml or under and protect yourself from the sun overall/wear a hat; we know the legendary bucket hat will be making an appearance, so you’ll fit right in! Look after yourself and those around you.”
