Nuno Espirito Santo says he will remain in charge of Nottingham Forest until the transfer window is closed, but he is unable to guarantee that he will.

The 51-year-old’s future was in doubt when he revealed on Friday that his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had “changed” and that they “are not as close as one.”

Nuno declared he would remain in charge of Crystal Palace after the 1-1 Premier League draw on Sunday.

It is absurd, I say. He continued, adding that he had previously claimed that his own exit attempt was “nonsense.”

The Portuguese, who revealed discussions will take place with Marinakis and Edu, the club’s global head of football, regarding transfers, did not offer assurances that he would remain there after September 1st.

Nuno responded, “I can’t respond to that question. I’m not sure if he’ll be manager at the end of the summer transfer window.

Marinakis did not attend Selhurst Park’s game, even though Edu was.

Forest’s participation in the summer transfer market contributed a lot to Nuno’s unhappiness. Eight senior players have been signed by Palace, and the manager was able to offload more than £100m of talent.

James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson, and Arnaud Kalimuendo all made debuts, while Douglas Luiz was an unused sub.

Dan Ndoye, a winger from Bologna, became the first Forest player to score or contribute to either of their two Premier League games since Geoff Thomas, who scored the opener for Callum Hudson-Odoi in August 1998.

However, Nuno claimed that Forest still required two full-backs and a new goalkeeper.

He referred to his new forwards as “options.” Great, but these guys are not full-backs if one of our wingers can play full-back.

Despite the fact that Nuno qualified for Europe last season, sources have informed BBC Sport that his position is not entirely secure. According to sources, the playing squad has now grown more unsure.

However, Nuno insists that his friendship with Marinakis can be rekindled while he is in charge and that it must be done.

“Hopefully it will all be resolved,” the saying goes.

Despite the divisions in the Forest hierarchy, the fans showed up at Selhurst Park and continue to support the manager.

Nuno walked onto the field at full speed, clapped, and gave the fans a thumbs-up, and chanted “Nuno, Nuno, Nuno.” Fans responded with chants of “Nuno, Nuno, Nuno.”

Then he turned and left, and it’s not yet known whether it will happen again.

Forest fans expressed their concern for the manager’s future after the game, which saw them finish seventh last season and reach their highest Premier League position since the mid-1990s.

Nuno will stay, fans Lynne and Lisa told the BBC’s Aaron Paul as they waited for the away players’ arrivals at Selhurst Park.

On Friday, they said, “It came out the blue; hopefully, everything will get resolved.”

However, they did not blame Marinakis because they “like his passion.” We can’t ask for more because he is spending a lot of money.

Palace’s performance as a result of Forest’s 3-1 win over Brentford may have contributed to an uneasy feeling among the players, who lack the energy and fluency seen in their 3-1 victory.

Prior to the 57th minute, Hudson-Odoi’s shot past Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson at the near post, Forest had only one shot on target.

Prior to that equalizer, the home crowd had been short on Nuno’s sympathies.

You’re getting fired in the morning, mocked some Eagles supporters.

However, Forest fans responded, “Europa League, you’re having a laugh,” in response to Palace’s demotion from the Europa League to the Uefa Conference League for breaking multi-ownership rules.

Forest finished much the stronger than their rivals, almost claiming victory in extra time, taking that spot in the Europa League.

After an impressive late comeo, Hutchinson lifted a shot over the bar while striker Igor Jesus hit the post.

Nuno is aware that he can’t win this conflict.

Can Nuno really expect to win a fight with the football manager and owner, despite the possibility of finding a way to end it?

Julien Laurens, an expert on European football, declared on BBC Radio 5 Live, “This is a battle that Nuno will lose.”

We all know that the process is over once you begin to question your owner. He knew that this was coming and that he couldn’t win this fight, so he offered it to the entire world.

He and Edu are both known to not get along, according to the company. He was present when Edu arrived at the club, and we all know that when a new sporting director arrives, they prefer to travel with their own members.

Nuno, a former Manchester City defender, said Nuno might think about leaving now that their relationship was “broken.”

Before the manager insisted he would stay, he told BBC Radio 5 Live, “Nuno’s stock is so high with the fanbase, they will want to fully believe in him.”

“But it’s also awkward for them because they’ll be appreciative of the work the club has done recently.

“With Edu entering the club in such a crucial role, he will want his own players in it because they will never truly trust the player who is already present,” he said. Would he choose Nuno if he had the option to pick a manager right away? No.

Marinakis and Edu won’t be rooting for him to fail so they can effect change, he said, “but that will be nagging for as long as possible.”
