
The Niger State Governors’ Forum (NSGF) supports President Bola Tinubu’s order to identify the terrorists responsible for the deadly attack at the Kasuwan Daji market in the state of Niger.
Additionally, it criticized the attack, which left over 30 people dead in the state’s Demo community and Borgu Local Government Area.

In a statement from Muhammadu Yahaya, the governors’ chairman and governor of Gombe State, described the incident as a cruel assault on innocent people and a serious threat to the country’s stability.
Yahaya noted that the incident has left families in agony and outrage, stifled economic activity, and left peaceful communities uneasy.
According to him, these absurd acts of terror that target market women, traders, and citizens engaging in lawful business conduct violate moral principles and threaten regional economic harmony.
The NSGF chairman called on security forces to make more of their efforts to find and apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice in a statement signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Ismaila Misillim.
He expressed his condolences to the victims’ families, the Niger State government, the people of Niger State, and all the communities affected, and prayed for the souls of the deceased’s repose, strength for the bereaved, and the quick return of those who had been abducted.
He assured the forum that it would continue to work with federal and security organizations to improve security systems and protect people’s lives and livelihoods in the North.
Victims of Boat Accidents
The NSGF deplored the unfortunate boat accident in Yobe State, which claimed the lives of at least 25 passengers and is still missing.
Yahaya, who spoke for the forum, expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the need to prioritize safety in all forms of transportation.
He urged authorities to increase search and rescue operations, make sure that survivors receive immediate medical attention, and review and enforce safety protocols to stop such tragedies from happening again.
The NSGF chairman also made an appeal to North African citizens to continue to be united, calm, and compassionate, supporting one another in difficult times, while reaffirming the forum’s commitment to working with all relevant organizations to combat insecurity, improve emergency response systems, and assist communities that have been the victims of tragic events.
Terrorists “must be hunted down,” he says.
The Director-General of State Services, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Minister of Defense, Niger State, have been ordered to find and apprehend the responsible for the Kasuwan Daji attack.
The security organizations were given the order by President Tinubu to bring the terrorists to justice right away.
The tenacity of our nation and its citizens has been tested by these terrorists. They must therefore bear the full consequences of their crimes.
They must be hunted down, no matter who they are or what their purpose is. The President declared in a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, that they and all those who support, abet, or enable them in any way will be apprehended and brought to justice.

He also instructed security personnel to immediately seek refuge for all the abducted victims.
In the Demo community’s deadly attack by suspected terrorists in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, over 30 people were killed.
Numerous people were also abducted as a result of the attack on Saturday.
The gun-wielding attackers, who reportedly entered the neighborhood on Saturday night and continued until Sunday morning, are also accused of dumping food and other items worth millions of naira before igniting the market.
About 42 people were tied to and killed by the terrorists, according to a local resident.
According to reports, the terrorists allegedly launched the attack in broad daylight from the National Park in Borgu LGA.
