Just weeks after criticizing and instructing them to “pull it together,” the preteen appears to have pulled a piercing that reportedly caused a stir online.
North West appears to have removed one of her piercings after it caused controversy online, just weeks after telling critics to ‘pull themselves together’. The 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West stirred up conversation after getting her middle finger pierced.
On Tuesday (30 December), North shared a series of pics to Instagram, which she only debuted an account for earlier this month. In the photos, North posed with two friends in the snow. Her bright blue hair could be seen under the fluffy black hood of a Balenciaga puffer jacket, but her finger piercing was no where in sight, despite her hand being in full view.

North was seen with a dermal piercing on her right hand’s middle finger, which consisted of two silver balls placed just beneath her lower knuckle, while she was on a summer vacation in Italy with her mother. Many people who saw the photo’s piercing online criticized Kim for allowing her daughter to have one.
One person said, “She’s literally 12; she’s a child, and that’s a pretty permanent choice.” Another remarked, “I wish her mother had allowed her to raise her in a home away from the general public.” She now appears to be a grown adult rather than a child, so children should be given space to be themselves.
North reacted to the criticism via her mother’s TikTok account. Why are you crying, she said in a brief selfie video. What year did you get married? Simply put, piece it together.
This is for everyone who is angry over a finger piercing, she added a line to the top. The preteen also uploaded now-deleted images showing how the piercing was done in real life, demonstrating that it wasn’t fake.
Kim has received more negative comments about how she raised North this year, with many saying she shouldn’t let her 12-year-old dress in some of the same manner. North wore a tight black corset and a mini skirt in one outfit that was deemed inappropriate for the child.

Responding to the criticism, Kim said on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she would never take North’s “creative” style away from her. “It makes her so happy. I would never take that creative [style] away from her,” she said.
She’s like my bestie and we’re so close, but her rebellion is wearing whatever she likes to do. My girlfriend should always be with me and be with me forever. And let’s try out different hair colors.
