After suffering a surprise second-round defeat by world no. 99 Aleksandar Vukic, British number two Cameron Norrie is withdrawn from the Canadian Open.
After reaching the Wimbledon quarter-finals, Norrie, who is 39, lost to the Australian 6-3, 6-7, and 6-3.
The 29-year-old’s quest for a first singles title since 2023 continues.
Norrie won some good matches on the grass court this year, but he has struggled to carry that momentum onto the hard courts, falling behind in the first set by 3-0.
He battled on to force a decider, and he appeared to be having a blood test midway through the second set.
However, Norrie ultimately lost because he failed to make the most of any of his three crucial break points.
