Nearly a week after the boxing legend’s passing, Noel Gallagher revealed his friendship with Ricky Hatton and said he was “gobsmacked” at the news. Over the years, the two actors have developed a close relationship.
Noel revealed a text exchange with the former world champion last week, saying, “We were texting each other.”
And I saw him in typical Ricky form at Heaton Park a few times. He was having a drink, being wise, and great with everyone.
He described the boxer as “one of us” and said he was “gobsmacked” when he learned of his passing. Noel went on, but he did struggle with mental health, which is well known, and it just shows you that you never truly know what has happened. It’s so unfortunate. He is a fantastic Mancunian.

The Oasis star also shared a humorous account of his pal. He describes the time when Paulie Malignaggi and him and his brother Liam were asked to fight in the Las Vegas boxing ring in 2008.
Before the match, the sports star’s brothers were present to carry the sports star’s world title belts. Noel claimed Ricky asked them during a Manchester City game when they were discussing how the honor came about.
Noel said to talkSPORT, “We said yes, and of course our child got into a fight about who was going to carry what belt. This argument persisted for about four weeks.
“But the ring was a fantastic experience and night of amazingness.” He prevailed in the end.

He was “one of the lads,” he said. We had a funny night out with him and his friends in Vegas after that, and I’ll always remember him as a funny lad.
He continued, “That was him! The image of him as the wise cracking lad!” Because he was such a lovely, modest man, he will be greatly missed. “He always had a one-liner,” he said.
Noel also described the late actor as a “lovely lad” and explained how he had once traveled with them. Ricky appeared to be a member of the band at the time, according to the musician.

At the weekend, Ricky passed away at the age of 46. Paul Speak, a long-standing manager and his “confidential confidant,” discovered him at his home. After the boxing legend failed to show up for a show on Saturday evening, he allowed himself into the boxing legend’s home in Hyde, Greater Manchester.
At the following UK show on their comeback tour, Oasis are expected to pay a special tribute to their boxer pal. Fans in Manchester braved the pouring rain to leave tributes as his loved ones reported the devastating loss of a ring giant.
On September 27, the band is reportedly going to remember him during a performance of “Live Forever” at Wembley.
