Noel and Liam Gallagher, the band’s reunion tour, have been advising their children while they haven’t been performing on stage.
It’s not the most rock’n’roll thing to do – but Liam and Noel Gallagher are great at giving their kids sensible advice.
The pair are back on the road together later this month as the Oasis reunion kicks off in Cardiff on July 4, their first shows in 16 years. In that time, they have been trying to install confidence and the value of money into their children.
Anas, Noel’s daughter, describes the Oasis Live 25 tour as “pre-prepping my liver” by consuming electrolytes. A fun summertime is expected. My intention is to travel to every U.K. date, and I’ll have my camera with me wherever I go.
The 25-year-old model and photographer joked that her father would probably want every penny if she didn’t make a photo book.
Growing up, she assumed that every kid could be taken to the Harry Potter film set to hang out like she was, until her parents, Noel and his ex-wife Meg Matthews, set her straight.
They said, “You’re different, but that doesn’t mean you’re any better than anyone else.” That is something I believe I have always considered throughout my life. Noel also appears to be aware that famous people’s children frequently struggle to live up to the expectations of their parents.
According to Anas, “My generation has been told that the sky is the limit and that the potential for billionaires lies in having big dreams,” Anas told US magazine.
That makes up only a small percentage of the population, though. You don’t need to be this big superstar, my parents always said do whatever makes you happy.
Noel did not attempt to make her music, quite the opposite. There is no inherently a Gallagher musical gene, despite the fact that she did “a brief stint playing the cello when I was about 11.” She continued, “My dad quickly said, “Maybe it’s not for you,” when he attended one of my recitals.
Two of Noel’s children have been attempting to emulate his musical prowess. Gene, 23, is supporting Liam on a tour with his band Villanelle, and they are planning to release a new song later this summer (PLS REF).
Even though Liam’s eldest son, Lennon Gallagher, claims his father gives him advice, despite the fact that his music has so far been more experimental than Oasis, which features spoken vocals on stage.
Lennon laughs and says, “He doesn’t hate it.” He has always been very patient. Dad has provided me with some excellent advice. One of the best advice is to “don’t think about what you’re doing” when performing on stage. Simply sit there and belt it out. It’s a pretty good piece of advice because you’ll just get sucked in if you ever think too much.
Gene said it was “water off a duck’s back” to be compared to his father, and that he is more concerned about his mother’s All Saints fandom than his father’s. I’d be more anxious to play it on my mother, she said. My music is always heard by my father.
Oasis split in 2009 after a backstage brawl between the Gallaghers at the Paris Rock en Seine festival.
However, thanks to their recent reconciliation, Liam is said to have made the first move to make things right.
On X Liam, Liam said last year, “I called him but don’t tell anyone because I don’t want people to think I’m a soft lad and things keep keeping it between me and you cheers x.” Like most of Liam’s responses on social media, the response was light on humor.
