‘No Cover-Up,’ NiDCOM, Musa Demand Probe Of Nigerian Player’s Death In Uganda

Abubakar Lawal, allegedly fell to death in Uganda, is the subject of an investigation, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and Super Eagles star Ahmed Musa.

Lawal was reported dead on Monday, according to Ugandan police, who claimed the Sokoto-born player had died after falling from a mall.

Hours after the sad incident, the Chairman of NiDCOM Abike Dabiri-Erewa described Lawal’s death as “suspicious”.

“This is pathetic and appears suspicious. We demand a thorough investigation. No cover-up at all. This is so sad”! She posted a message on her X handle on Tuesday afternoon. “@nidcom_gov will ensure and demand a thorough and transparent investigation. May God’s forgiveness and his soul resurrect the family in this difficult time.

Abubakar Lawal, a Nigerian football player, perished in Uganda.

“Something Suspicious”

Initial reports had suggested that the Nigerian international who plays for Viper in the Ugandan league had an accident. However, it later claimed he had fallen from a balcony and passed away. &nbsp,

According to Musa, the contradictory reports about Lawal’s death call for concern. The footballer wants Lawal’s situation to be resolved by the Nigerian and Ugandan authorities.

“The news of Abubakar Lawal saddens it. I needed to ask more questions and get clarification after reading the shocking news. However, we discovered contrary information about his demise; The first one claimed it was an accident, and the second report claimed he fell from a balcony,” the former Leicester City player wrote on X Tuesday.

“The contradictory reports point to something amiss about his death, and I’ve been in contact with the Nigerian authorities and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to bring this fatal case in Uganda to their attention.” I’m urging the Nigerian government and the NFF to conduct an investigation into the incident and work with Lawal’s Ugandan government to bring about justice. If someone is found guilty, justice must be served and Lawal’s soul deserves a thorough investigation.

The 29-year-old striker was visiting a friend from Tanzania who was staying in one of the mall’s residential apartments. The friend reported to the police that she had abandoned him without a trace.
