
Rivers State Council, the governor of the state, thanked governor Siminalayi Fubara for granting and paying the state’s pensioners’ 2025 Christmas bonus.
Comrade Alex Agwanwor, the union’s chairperson in Rivers State, said the gesture shows the governor’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of workers since the beginning of his administration in a statement released by the union.
The NLC noted that the Christmas bonus would help employees and retirees make informed decisions about how to meaningfully spend the holiday season with their loved ones.

Governor Fubara was referred to as a “worker-friendly leader,” and the labor body attributed this to his deliberate and consistent efforts to enhance working conditions and the state’s overall welfare.
