As Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho draws close to signing with Manchester United, Milan AC has agreed a £36 million deal, including add-ons.

Nkunku, 27, has been given permission to travel for a medical and is expected to accept a pay cut to join the Italian national team on a five-year contract.

Nkunku’s two-year stay at Stamford Bridge will be ended by the Blues’ addition to the deal, which also includes a sell-on clause.

With Garnacho’s signing negotiations progressing, the move will have wider implications for Chelsea.

The 21-year-old Argentina international, who has not played for United this season, is one of the club’s players who has been training elsewhere.

Meanwhile, striker Nicolas Jackson is reportedly in talks with Bayern Munich about a potential purchase.

Chelsea can also boast about making a profit on the transfer market, which would increase an estimated £309 million to close the Garnacho deal, which would increase if the deal were to be made.

Due to Uefa sanctions, including a fine of 31 million euros ($26. 7 million), as well as the requirement to maintain a “positive transfer balance” in this window in order to sign new players for the Champions League, Chelsea is concerned about player sales this summer.

After moving from RB Leipzig for about £52 million in 2023, Nkunku added 18 goals and five assists to his 62 games for Chelsea.
