Nigeria’s Insecurity Is Planned, Not Accidental – Ayo Opadokun

A former pan-Yoruba organization secretary-general, Afenifere, and a former NADECO chieftain, Ayo Opadokun, have stated that the recent upheaval in insecurity in some areas was a planned action by destructive elements and not an accident.

Opadokun, the Grand Patron of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Offa Local Government Area, Kwara State branch, stated on the sidelines of his installation on Sunday that a wide range of people are sponsoring bandits and insurgents.

Some Nigerians, including those who want to destabilize the country and those who don’t want this government, have long-held opinions, he said.

The elder statesman claimed the country’s current security situation was alarming and that the government had been warned that a situation where non-state actors were using sophisticated weapons more than those from the nation’s conventional army was unacceptable.

He continued, “But they never listened.”

Without any doubt, I can say this without fear of contradiction. In August 2022, I spent four days at the Nicon Hilton planning to overthrow Nigerians and Sahel region structures. The outcome is now being seen by everyone. El-Rufai’s statement was widely known. The current circumstance is not, therefore, accidental. He claimed that it was a planned event.

He advised that the federal government should continue to fight insurgency, and that there should no longer be compassion for bandits and their supporters.

Bola Tinubu is “taking a shot at fiscal federalism,” according to Opadokun, who praised the president’s boldness in pursuing economic policies. ”

I told you last year that the tax reforms bill would pass. Fiscal federalism is being pushed by the new tax rule. A sizable number of Nigerians will be able to pay no tax by January of next year because they don’t have to. The state will continue to harass them because what they are earning is not enough to provide for their needs.

Banks and other financial institutions will be among the affected by the new tax rule. Our banks have been abusing us. People should be impressed by the accomplishments made by President Tinubu so far. But he hasn’t succeeded in our expectations.

Our objective as NADECO members is to restore Nigeria’s constitutional leadership. Politians in uniform imposed on us this unitarized federal government. Nigeria’s constitution is not its own. ”

As of December 2025, Nigeria is at a turning point in its history. The current administration has begun extensive structural reforms, particularly in the economic sector, to address systemic shortcomings that have existed for a long time. These reforms show a willingness to confront difficult national realities, which previous governments frequently delayed.

The book arithmetic suggests a positive outlook while today there are many positive indicators. These encouraging signs will continue to be exclusive pursuits until they improve the quality of life for regular Nigerians.

I trust President Tinubu to use the last few months of his first term to turn the positive trends into realities for Nigerians’ homes and tables. His recent pronouncements to the governors demonstrate his resolve to get his wishes respected and swiftly implemented in order to ease the suffering of our overburdened Nigerians.

However, it is important to make it clear that many Nigerians have experienced severe social effects as a result of these policies. Public hardship has increased due to inflation, rising living costs, declining purchasing power, and pressure on small businesses and people with fixed incomes. Any accurate assessment must acknowledge that regular people have a higher percentage of the burden of reform.

The administration has demonstrated decisiveness and confidence rooted in political experience, according to the administration. However, empathy, open communication, and deliberate efforts to carry the people must also be a key component of leadership in times of national sacrifice. No matter how well-intentioned they may be, policies only gain legitimacy when the public perceives and feels protected while engaging in them.

Nigeria continues to face significant challenges in terms of security and national cohesion. Many communities still experience fear and uncertainty despite efforts to strengthen security measures. Beyond force, Nigeria’s diverse peoples need justice, inclusion, fairness, and ongoing dialogue for national stability.

It is crucial to emphasize that the success or failure of this administration cannot be associated with one country. The world is changing. The success of this government will ultimately depend in part on how bold its reforms are in creating dignity, opportunity, and hope for the average Nigerian.
