NFL player Stefon Diggs faces felony strangulation charge

Stefon Diggs, a player for the New England Patriots, is facing felony strangulation and a lower-level assault charge after an alleged two-december incident.

One of the most renowned professional football teams in the United States has a star wide receiver named Diggs.

In a statement released to the BBC, Mr. Diggs “categorically denies these allegations,” his attorney, David Meier, said. He called the allegations “unsubstantiated” and “uncorroborated”

A woman who worked as Mr. Diggs’ chef, according to the Boston Globe, charged him.

According to a statement from the Patriots, “The New England Patriots are aware of the allegations that have been made regarding Stefon Diggs.”

Stewart has informed the group that he firmly refutes the allegations. Stefon is our support, the team continued. “We will continue to gather information and cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as needed. We won’t have any further comment at this time out of respect for all parties involved and given that this is a continuing legal dispute.

On January 23rd, a local Massachusetts court will arraign Mr. Diggs, who will hear the charges against him and enter a guilty or not guilty plea.

Mr. Diggs and the Patriots signed a three-year deal in March worth $ 69 million (£51 million).

A boy was born recently between Mr. Diggs and his girlfriend Cardi B, the rapper.
