Neymar, the all-time top goalscorer for Brazil, has agreed to a new contract with Santos until December.

After his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal expired, the 33-year-old returned to the Brazilian club on a six-month deal in January.

In 243 Santos appearances, Neymar has scored 141 goals and contributed 69 assists.

Prior to the end of the Brazilian Serie A season, the former Paris St.Germain and Barcelona forward had been linked with a return to Europe and had an option to extend.

Neymar remarked, “I made a decision and I listened to my heart.”

“Santos is not just my team; it’s also my life, home, and roots,” he said. I’m truly loved, and here I’m a boy who turned into a man. I can be truly content here.

I want to realize the career-related dreams that are unfulfilled. And I will not be able to stop anything. I leave, return, and stay. Where everything began and where it never ends

After missing for 17 months in March, Neymar was called back to the Brazil squad, but he did not play in their World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina.

Since sustaining a knee injury against Uruguay in October 2023, he has made 79 goals in 128 of his Brazil appearances.

According to Santos FC’s president, “It is a historic and remarkable day for Brazilian football.”

The prince wearing our number 10 shirt is still there, our idol, our boy, and our boy.

We needed Neymar both on and off the field at this crucial time in the reconstruction process.
