Jimmy Kimmel delivers brutal Christmas message after he was taken off air

The US chat show host Jim Kimmel praised a “really great year” in his recording of Channel 4’s 2025 Alternative Christmas Message.

US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel has said it has been a “great year” from “a fascism perspective” in his Christmas address.

The presenter, 58, was chosen to deliver Channel 4’s 2025 Christmas Message, an alternative to the monarch’s annual televised address on December 25. Jimmy, who was taken off air by Donald Trump earlier this year, is expected to say: “From a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year.”

The comedian was suspended indefinitely in September following comments he made on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, an ally of the US President. Staff were reportedly “shocked” when the programme was yanked off air minutes before it was due to broadcast.

However, Mr. Trump’s decision caused the programmne to be immediately reinstated after Jimmy’s fans voiced their disapproval. Hollywood’s biggest stars and political figures have complained to the US administration about violating their right to free speech and the press.

Jimmy, who was born in Brooklyn, New York City, will continue to reflect on the recent events and share his own experiences and insights in the Christmas Day address. He was at the center of a story that shocked the US and its underlying democratic values.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Donald Trump’s return to the White House and wide-ranging impact on the world has been the story of 2025 and it would be hard to think of a better person to address it than Jimmy Kimmel, who has found himself on the front line of America’s battle over free speech.”

The channel’s annual broadcast, which first aired in 1993, aims to bring viewers a message about that year’s events. Kimmel’s address follows on from previous messages delivered by a wide range of presenters, including comedian Chris McCausland who addressed ableism last year after becoming the first blind person to win Strictly Come Dancing.

He blatantly stated, “Discrimination is never a good thing. I suppose sometimes, I suppose. Before I started comedy, I applied to be a spy for MI5 many, many years ago. Out of 3, 000 applicants, I made the final 30. The top 1% of potential spies this nation had before they decided against it. They weren’t looking for a blind spy, but I think they were. I believe that discrimination can sometimes be harmful to a country’s safety, but in general, we can do better.

McTominay-style finish – but what else did Scots learn about Morocco?

As Scotland’s World Cup rivals won the Africa Cup of Nations by defeating the Comoros 2-0 in front of a capacity home crowd, Morocco had their own Scott McTominay to thank.

With 15 minutes left, Brahim Diaz opened the scoring for the hosts after 10 minutes, and Ayoub El Kaabi’s stunning overhead kick, which is reminiscent of the Scotland midfielder’s iconic strike in the most recent World Cup qualifier against Denmark, sealed the hosts’ three points.

The victory over the team that is ranked 108th in the world in front of a crowd of 60 or 180 spectators in Rabat extended the Atlas Lions’ record-setting 19th victory streak to nine.

A dive is a favorite for the Real Madrid winger.

Diaz enjoys going down in the penalty box.

The 26-year-old Real Madrid winger attempted to wiggle free on the byeline after just 10 minutes when he won himself a spot-kick.

Soufiane Rahimi’s penalty was thumped down the center of goal by goalkeeper Yannick Pandor.

Diaz, who was born in Malaga and became a Moroccan national in 2024 after winning one cap for Spain, also claimed for a penalty shortly before the break.

Diaz poses a threat.

Unfortunately, Diaz’s free-kicks also had poor quality.

He was constantly in danger, though, given the ability to move both wings and launch attacks from the middle.

Steve Clarke’s team won’t want to rent him the space he used to score against the Comoros.

After switching his allegiance, Diaz had gone five games without scoring after six goals in eight games.

When Manchester United wing-back Noussair Mazraoui collected a clever chip from the Comoros defense, turned his marker, and rolled into Diaz’s path in acres of space from 12 yards, and was back on the goal-trail.

high tempo and a lot of intensity

In their 4-3-3 formation, Walid Regragui’s Morocco like to play a fast-paced game where they switch balls quickly from wing to wing to stretch their opponents.

To maintain their intensity and pressure on their opponents, free kicks and other set pieces are taken quickly.

However, the Comoros’ findings demonstrated Morocco’s frustration, which is 97 places above them in the world rankings.

From their seven attempts until the opening goal, they restricted the hosts to one on target on the majority of the first half.

Before the break, Morocco peppered the Indian Ocean islanders’ penalty box with 16 crosses, with Mazraoui prominent, before eventually setting up Diaz for the score.

At the back, vulnerable?

Morocco did, however, occasionally appear uncomfortable when Comoros were able to press high.

On the counterattack, they were also a few times thrown long balls through the defense’s defense’s heart.

Rafiki Said, a striker for Standard Liege, could have silenced the home shortly after the opener when he went on goal only to fire at Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou’s legs.

Bounou only had one troubleful situation before Youssouf M’Changama made an attempt to score a bizarre free-kick from all 50 yards.

more difficult tests to be put to a greater depth to determine strength

In front of their own vociferous supporters, it is difficult to tell how good Morocco are when they face a side from the smallest of the 24 nations competing in Afcon 2025.

The Comoros won the Afcon without a defeat as they won the qualifying group ahead of Tunisia and shocked Ghana in the process two years ago.

Morocco, however, defeated Jordan 3-3 in the final of the Arab Cup on Thursday to take the lead over Comoros, who had earlier defeated them 3-1 in the previous competition in Qatar.

That squad played at a completely different level than the one competing at home.

Even the hosts’ Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium had one Arab Cup player starting.

Despite this, Morocco has yet to demonstrate its depth of strength.

After suffering an ankle injury while playing for Paris St-Germain in a Champions League game in early November, the influential captain Achraf Hakimi was only fit to start on the bench.

El Kaabi, 32, made a sensational debut goalscoring debut with 25 minutes left. El Kaabi was himself a substitute.

Although he didn’t quite reach McTominay’s height, it was greeted with the same amount of gasps inside his hometown.

In the longer-range challenges that lie ahead, starting with Mali on Boxing Day and then Zambia on December 29th, Morocco’s depth will be put to the test.

They will, however, be favorites to advance to Group A in order to win the tournament for the first time since 1976 or at least make it to the final for the first time in 21 years.

Helen Flanagan praises mum amid explosive fall-out with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36273961.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/2_JS380581681.jpg

Helen Flanagan, the star of Coronation Street, thanked her mother for supporting her in a furious and public split with Scott Sinclair, her ex-football player ex.

Helen Flanagan has praised her mother for her unwavering support amid her explosive falling out with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair. The Coronation Street icon and the Bristol Rovers winger were in a relationship for thirteen years.

Matilda, 10, Delilah, 7, and Charlie, their four-year-old son, are the former couple’s three children. However, after Scott, 36, traveled to Abu Dhabi to watch the Formula One-missing Charlie’s Nativity play, tensions have increased.

An incensed Helen, 35, publicly lashed out online, branding him “a piece of s**t” in a fiery Instagram Stories post. Helen has, however, been able to rely on her mother to help her with her home life as she has been starring in a production of Snow White in Liverpool in recent weeks.

Helen shared a photo of her mother, Julia, cuddling Charlie on Instagram over the weekend. The TV star wrote, “So grateful for my incredible mother who has cared for my kids for a lot of time while I’ve been working,” in a hushed caption.

She continued, “I’m so blessed to have you mom. You’re the BEST grandma ever.” Helen continued, “All the school activities, all the school work, all the washing.” I adore you.

As Scott and Helen co-parent in various counties, Helen has previously discussed how much her mother supports her. He lives like Somerset, according to her previous statement to The Sun. We live so far apart from one another, which is difficult to do when you have three young children.

She continued, “My mom is amazing. She really aids in raising my kids. I’m very fortunate to have that support.

Helen and Scott’s approach to raising their children together was revealed earlier this year. And she made it clear that communication was essential to ensuring that the children were aware of each other’s plans.

She stated to Closer magazine in June that despite coordinating gifts for their children, she isn’t afraid to exercise her will. She continued, “Oh, we need to talk about getting kids’ gifts.”

If we bought the same item, it would really irritate me. I’m not sure if Scott would actually shop for the kids; he’s a man. His mother probably does it, but he is completely useless. So I simply let him know what I’m purchasing, and that’s it.

Meanwhile, Helen shared snaps of herself with her children this weekend as they visited her at the theatre of her current production. Playing the wicked Queen in the panto at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, Helen is joined in the cast by X Factor star Sean Smith as the Prince and theatre star Ellis Lloyd as Snow White.

Helen was seen embracing her children in warm hugs after sharing photos of herself in costume. She wrote, “My babies, my babies,” in a sweet caption. My three absolute musts Happy but irate mummy

The performances are scheduled to last until Sunday, December 28th, at a price of between £28 and £65. Heather has been frequently sharing photos and videos with fans on her social media accounts and praising the show, “Having a ball… Come see us.”

Smyth marks new deal with 17 points in Saints win

Charlie Smyth scored 17 points in the New Orleans Saints’ 29-6 victory over the New York Jets as part of his new three-year contract.

Smyth, a former Gaelic football player, received a new deal and a spot on the Saints’ 53-man roster as reward for his winning kick against the Carolina Panthers.

After being elevated from the Saints’ practice squad three times, the 24-year-old either had to be permanently promoted to the roster or had to be released.

In Sunday’s win over the Jets, Smyth kicked five field goals and attempted two extra-pointers for the league record.

“I want to give the defense and offense of today a lot of credit. After the victory, Smyth said, “We are starting to play some real complementary football here.”

“New Orleans has a fantastic support system,” he said. The victories have already begun because this team has remained united.

    • two days ago

Smyth opened his account with a 35-yard field goal, which was followed by 49- and 36-yard field goals.

As the Saints led 9-6 at halftime, he missed a 60-yard field goal attempt before scoring from 50 yards.

His 39-yard field goal, which was his fifth of the season, tied the Saints’ franchise record and gave the visitors a comfortable win.

Smyth has the third-most points this season, trailing only by Jason Myers’ total of 18 and Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson’s total of 20 against the Baltimore Ravens.

His five field goals against the Indianapolis Colts in the previous gameweek rank him at second place overall in an NFL game this season.

‘Alarming’ medicine shortages in Gaza amid Israeli restrictions

After more than two years of Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinians in Gaza and a crippling blockade, Gaza’s ministry of health has launched an appeal for more drug, medical supplies, and laboratory supplies.

The ministry claimed on Sunday that it was difficult to offer diagnostic and treatment services due to the shortages.

Doctors in the Palestinian territory where the war has ravaged the country have long been warned that Israel’s refusal to provide the most crucial medical supplies is a cause for their struggle to save lives. Nearly all of Gaza’s hospitals and healthcare facilities were attacked during Israel’s genocidal war, which lasted for more than two years, with 34 hospitals among the damage caused by at least 125.

According to a statement from the Health Ministry, “there are now 321, which represents a 52% shortage of items on the essential medicines list.”

“There are now 710 items on the list of medical consumables that are completely out of stock, which is a 71% shortage. The supply shortage rate for blood bank supplies and laboratory tests increased to 59%, it added.

According to the ministry, emergency services experience the worst drug shortages, particularly intravenous life-saving solutions, intravenous antibiotics, and pain killers.

According to the report, the shortage of emergency and intensive care services could prevent 700 patients receiving intensive care, 100 000 of surgical care, and 200 000 of emergency care.

The ministry cited additional shortages, among others, in kidney, oncology, open-heart surgery, and orthopedic supplies.

The Ministry of Health urgently appeals to all relevant parties to fully assume their responsibilities in implementing emergency interventions in light of these alarming figures, along with the continued reduction by the occupation of the number of medical trucks entering Gaza to less than 30% of the monthly needs, and with the insufficient supply of supplies,” it said.

Israel continues to violate its agreement with Hamas despite a US-backed ceasefire that ended on October 10 and worsens what the Gaza Health Ministry has described as a pressing and ongoing health emergency.

1,500 children are awaiting the opening of border crossings to travel and get medical care outside of Gaza due to the shortage of medical supplies.

1,200 patients, including 155 children, died on Sunday as a result of a medical emergency, according to Zaher Al Waheidi, the head of the information unit at Gaza’s health ministry.

Released Palestinian detainees

Meanwhile, six Released Palestinian detainees from Israeli detention arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah on Sunday for medical treatment, according to medical sources. A correspondent for the Anadolu news agency said the men were transferred via the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Without following definite legal procedures, rights groups claim that Israel had detained the men. Since October 2023, the ICRC has warned that international humanitarian law requires family contact and humane treatment for Palestinians who are detained in Israeli custody.

The releases are a part of Israeli sporadic operations targeting detainees in Gaza. Former prisoners’ reports of abuse and malnourishment are common.

More than 10, 000 Palestinians, including women and children, are still imprisoned in Israeli prisons, where rights groups claim there is widespread abuse, starvation, and medical neglect. In October, about 1,700 detainees were freed as part of the ceasefire agreement.

A child and two women were rescued from their homes in Sheikh Radwan, northwest of Gaza City, by Gaza’s Civil Defense, who were also trapped underground.

Four people were killed when the roof collapsed, according to the Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza.

Since the ceasefire’s implementation, 46 buildings in Gaza have collapsed, according to the ministry, killing at least 18 people.

Pregnant Holly Hagan shares baby gender reveal video weeks after tragic death of sister

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36373451.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/2_Holly-Hagen.jpg

Holly Hagan, a star of The Geordie Shore, has revealed some much-needed good news about her unborn child while she is still grieving over her 19-year-old sister’s tragic passing.

Pregnant Holly Hagan has revealed her unborn baby’s gender following the tragic death of her sister in October. Holly, who is already mum to Alpha-Jax, two, shared that she was expecting another baby last month with footballer husband Jacob Blyth.

The 33-year-old recently made the heartbreaking announcement that her half-sister, Darci Rose Gibson had died, aged just 19. But while the Geordie Shore star battles with her grief, she shared some much-needed good news, with a sweet gender reveal video, which showed her family finding out they will be welcoming a little girl into the fold.

In the video, posted on Sunday, Holly could be seen cradling her toddler, while Jacob got ready to fire the confetti canon. The small family stood by their Christmas tree, before pink confetti scattered around them.

Holly, who had previously predicted the gender by claiming she had been feeling “girl vibes,” was overjoyed before swooping in for a hug with their son. With her husband pulling her in, Holly covered her face, causing her to cry.

Georgia Kousoulo, a TOWIE star, wrote, “I just knew it… your sister sent her,” in the comments section. Nathan Henry, Holly’s former Geordie Shore co-star, continued, “Guys, I’m so happy for you both”!

Holly, who previously revealed she had suffered a miscarriage earlier this year, was delighted to find out she was expecting a baby. She shared a photo of her beaming as she held the positive pregnancy test.

Our little rainbow among the storm, she wrote in the caption. Baby Blyth no2 coming May 2026″.

Holly, a reality tv star, lost her heart following her sister’s tragic death in October. She acknowledged that Darci had tragically passed away, but she was unsure whether to share the news.

In November, Holly wrote on Instagram: “A little life update from last week. I wasn’t sure whether to share or not as honestly this is such a vulnerable time and I’m not really someone who sits and cries to the camera usually but this is the reality of where I’m at right now x.

The toughest four weeks of our lives have been and are still are. My parents and I both have different ways of handling this situation.

“I don’t think anybody realises how much this affects everybody in their lives, the amount of people that’s been affected by this is just absolutely mind blowing. Like, my world has stopped. Her parents’ world has stopped. We feel, like, stuck and then the world keeps spinning.”

She had to pause as she spoke because the subject was so important to her. She continued, “I can usually take my mind off it and do other things in the day… However, typically on a night that is “incredibly difficult,” “incredibly difficult for everyone,”

She acknowledged that she has long wanted to be content again, but she hasn’t yet mastered that. I feel “like weighed by lead,” I tell myself right now. She said, “I feel like I’m just so heavy, everything feels like it’s ten times harder to do.”

The teen “fell ill after taking drugs,” according to a later statement from police. According to Greater Manchester Police, “on Sunday, October 19, 2025, hospital staff called to the care of a 19-year-old woman who had taken drugs and had fallen seriously ill. Sadly, the woman died in hospital yesterday evening (20/10/2025).

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with her family. “We are still looking into this.
