Love Island star Conor Phillips has sent TikTok into meltdown after seemingly slamming one his fellow islanders who he was good friends with while in the villa

Love Island star Conor Phillips is the subject of much talk after reposting a scathing TikTok about one of his fellow islanders.

Irish rugby player Conor, 25, finished in fifth place on this summer’s series of Love Island with love interest Megan Forte-Clarke after she made an epic return to the villa despite being dumped by the public earlier on in the series.

After making her unexpected comeback, Megan and Conor lost out on a place in the final, but the pair’s blossoming romance appears to be going from strength-to-strength now that the pair are both back living in Dublin. It comes after Love Island’s Harry confirmed he was dating another Islander’s friend ‘right before’ the show.

However, the couple haven’t been able to escape the drama post-villa. Despite being good friends with all of the islanders on this series, Conor has found himself in a spot of bother after reposting a scathing TikTok video aimed at his fellow islander, Megan Moore.

Megan was painted as the villa ‘mean girl’ while on the show and had several altercations with runner-up Shakira Khan – who Conor coupled-up with one the show after the pair realised they were much more than best friends.

Throughout the duration of the show, Meg made dozens of cruel comments about Shakira which were never aired on either The Movie Night or the The Graffties ceremony.

This infuriated fans due to the fact that every mean comment Shakira made about Meg was screened for everyone to see as they claimed producers were trying their best to paint the brunette bombshell as the villa villain.

Since leaving the show, it appears that Conor has chosen his side amid the huge divide in the cast this season, and it seems as though he’s got Shakira’s back all the way. The rugby player not only liked but also reposted a fan-made video calling Meg ‘fake’ on TikTok.

The premise of the video was based around the fact that since leaving the villa, it appears that Meg has been trying her best to do some serious damage control by making dozens of TikTok videos with islanders she had disagreements with while on the show, including Andrada and Emma.

Conor appeared to agree with what had been said in the video, and naturally, fans went crazy after realising that he took the time to repost it. However, as the video and his post gained more and more attention, Conor released a statement claiming that the repost was a ‘mistake’ on his part.

“I reposted by accident. Meg is my big sis,” he wrote in the comments of the now viral video. However, not everyone was so convinced by the ‘accident’ as they rushed to the comments to call out the islander.

One wrote: “The repost button is too far for it to be an accident.” Another quipped: “Yeah, yeah Conor. Whatever you want to tell yourself. We believe you. NOT.”

Love Island fans have questioned why Connor didn't leave with Megan after he asked if she would wait for him on the outside.

“He was probably sending it to someone and accidentally clicked repost omg,” someone else suggested. While another TikTok user said: “I think it was Megan reposting it just to wind him up and see the drama unfold. She would be someone who would do that lol.”

Despite the TikTok drama, Conor has gained huge popularity since appearing on the show and has already garnered a whopping 204,000k followers on Instagram since joining the ITV2 show nine weeks ago.

Palace hit out at Cas and Uefa after losing appeal

Crystal Palace have said “sporting merit is rendered meaningless” after losing their appeal against demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League.

After winning the FA Cup last season, Palace qualified for Europe’s secondary competition but were punished by Uefa for breaching multi-club ownership rules.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) sided with Europe’s governing body on Monday.

In a strongly worded statement, Palace said it was “almost impossible to receive a fair hearing.”

“The decision by Uefa and followed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport shows that sporting merit is rendered meaningless,” Palace said.

“It appears that certain clubs, organisations and individuals have a unique privilege and power.

“This growing and unhealthy influence has shattered the hopes and dreams of Crystal Palace supporters, and does not bode well for aspirational teams all over Europe competing to progress when rules and sanctions are unevenly applied in the most flagrant way.”

Palace added they will “continue to take legal advice on the next steps” as they prepare to compete in the Conference League.

Nottingham Forest finished seventh in the Premier League last season and have been promoted to the Europa League in Palace’s place.

“Multi-club structures hide behind the charade of a ‘blind trust’ while clubs such as ours, who have no connection to another club whatsoever, are prevented from playing in the same competition,” Palace said.

“To compound the injustice, clubs that appear to have huge informal arrangements with each other are also allowed to participate and even possibly play against each other.”

The Eagles had until 1 March 2025 to show Uefa proof of multi-club ownership restructuring, but missed the deadline.

American businessman John Textor owned a 43% stake in Palace but sold it in June and is the majority owner of Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League.

Cas said that Textor “still had decisive influence over both clubs” at the time of Uefa’s assessment.

The panel also dismissed Palace’s argument that they received unfair treatment in comparison to Nottingham Forest and Lyon.

‘This should be a turning point’

There is precedent for teams being sanctioned by Uefa and for Cas to uphold that decision for breaching multi-club ownership rules.

Irish Premier Division side Drogheda qualified for the 2025-26 Conference League but have been expelled from Europe due to US-based Trivela Group also owning Danish side Silkeborg, who also earned a spot in the competition.

“Uefa’s decision has wider implications for the governance of the sport,” Palace added.

“This should be a turning point for football. Uefa must fulfil its mandate to pass coherent rules which are properly communicated and applied, with reasonable cure periods to resolve uncertainty and consistent sanctions, treating all clubs equally with a proper appeal process.

“The European Court of Justice has made it clear that rulings similar to this will be under greater scrutiny from national courts in future. Only then will fairness and due process be granted to every team.”

Kwam 1: Unlike Ibom Air, ValueJet Did Not Press Charges Against Fuji Singer — NCAA

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mike Achimugu, has clarified the agency’s role in two recent passenger incidents, saying the authority only intervenes where necessary and within its mandate.

Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Achimugu said in the case involving Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, better known as K1 De Ultimate, the airline did not press charges.

“The airline [in the singer’s case]did not activate its right to take the passenger to court. As a result, the NCAA petitioned relevant authorities to prosecute the passenger, issuing an advisory to the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to have the passenger banned,” Achimugu said.

However, in the Ibom Air case, where a passenger assaulted the airline’s staff member, he explained that the carrier immediately exercised its right to take up the matter in court.

“Maybe because their staff had been assaulted, the airline immediately activated its right to take up the matter, and it went to court, so the NCAA is not involved in the case of the Ibom Air passenger,” he said.

The passenger identified as Emmanson Comfort was charged to court on the same day that the incident happened. She was also remanded.

Achimugu stressed that both cases highlight that the aviation system is being tested and that “there’s enough blame to go around FAAN, AVSEC, cabin crew, passengers.”

The NCAA director noted that, “Unruly behaviour is not acceptable anywhere in the world, no matter the confrontation. The regulations are not sentiment-based; those rules are there for the safety of every passenger”.

According to him, passengers must always obey cabin crew instructions while on board.

In the Ibom Air case, he noted that other passengers on the aircraft were said to have seized the passenger’s phone and turned it off during the confrontation.

The Airline Operators of Nigeria had prior imposed a no-fly list ban on the passenger Comfort Emmanson aboard the Ibom Air flight inbound Lagos from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The AON, in a statement on Monday by its spokesperson, Obiora Okonkwo, said the ban on Emmanson from flying with any AON member, either domestically or internationally, for life, takes immediate effect.
