The club’s manager was fired the day after being acquired by new owners Panjab Warriors in Morecambe.

Adams, 50, was appointed in June 2024 and was in his third year as the club’s manager.

Prior to joining the Shrimps in February 2022 and June 2021, The Scot had previously led them through the play-offs and from November 2022 to November.

Adams had stayed with Morecambe despite a turbulent pre-season with uncertainty surrounding the club’s long-term plans.

He leaves, however, after overseeing their relegation from League Two for 14 months.

In a “testing chapter,” the club expressed gratitude to Adams for the “leadership and steadiness he brought to the club.”

His return “instilled direction and purpose, helping guide Morecambe into League One for the first time in their history [in 2021] and stabilized the team under tremendous pressure,” it continued.

Morecambe to make outstanding wages

Morecambe announced Adams’ departure after the team revealed they had received funds from former owners Panjab Warriors to pay off outstanding wages and football creditors.

Following a turbulent summer during which Morecambe was suspended from the National League, Panjab Warriors completed their acquisition of the team on Sunday.

The club claimed that funds were also provided to pay all taxes to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in a statement on Monday.

By Wednesday, the club had promised to pay off its employees, liabilities, and football creditors.

Although Panjab Warriors’ original goal was to challenge for English Football League (EFL) promotion, “the events and circumstances of the past couple of months” would make it difficult to do so this season.

After receiving a three-game suspension from the National League, Morecambe were forced to postpone their opening three games. However, the league approved the deal, which gave them the go-ahead to begin the season against Altrincham on Saturday.

The club claimed that the transfer embargo would be lifted once those outstanding debts were settled, and that it had been set to continue until all football creditors, including players, staff, and HMRC, were paid.

The deal comes almost three years after Jason Whittingham’s ownership of Morecambe was terminated after his appointment as CEO in May 2018.

Maura Higgins is continuing her rise in American television, landing yet another high-profile role just weeks after appearing on The Traitors US.

The Irish presenter, 34, has officially been confirmed as the host of the newly commissioned Aftersun series for the upcoming second season of Love Island Games. An Aftersun show wasn’t included in the first Love Island Games episode because it was planned and later broadcast, according to a TV insider. However, it will be broadcast live like the main show this time.

The bosses made the decision to set up a special Aftersun, and Maura was the obvious host.

There was no guarantee that Maura would receive it because Games is a completely different show, the source continued to The Sun. She was overjoyed when her bosses approached her because it demonstrated how happy they were with her and why she is regarded as a key member of the Love Island USA family.
