Following a terrifying car crash over the weekend in which his entire family was involved, former Nip/Tuck star Dylan Walsh has been confirmed safe.

The 61-year-old Hollywood actor was traveling with his loved ones in Rumson, New Jersey, on August 17 when he was involved in a serious motor accident. A 2022 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on East River Road at around 5pm swerved into the southbound lane, according to People’s reports.

The vehicle then slammed into a second pole before striking a utility pole. Two passengers were taken to Riverview Medical Center for treatment after reporting pain following the dramatic collision, according to the Mirror US.

Whether Dylan, who rose to fame in the medical drama series Nip/Tuck, was driving at the time, is still a mystery. Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson, according to Dylan’s representatives in a statement to People. Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home.

The family expressed gratitude for Riverview Medical Center’s staff’s prompt treatment of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS. Additionally, they would like to thank The River Point Inn’s management and staff for their immediate assistance.

After the crash, eight local residents in New Jersey lost power, but it was later restored. Utility poles that were damaged in the accident have also been replaced by Jersey Central Power and Light.

Leslie Bourque-Walsh, the actor’s wife, revealed the terrifying ordeal in a recently deleted Facebook post. She continued, “Our family was the victim of the car accident on River Road yesterday afternoon. We just want to say thanks to everyone who helped us through this agonizing time.

Leslie continued, “First of all to the River Point Inn managers and staff who immediately ran out to check on us and comfort our children by bringing ice bags and fancy Evian water bottles.”

She then thanked the EMT for making fun of her “corny” jokes while riding the ambulance and thanked the first responders who arrived at the scene of the accident. We are a little swollen from seatbelts, but we are so grateful for them and the air bags that saved our lives, according to Leslie. We apologize to anyone who experienced power failure or inconvenience.

US court blocks Texas law requiring Ten Commandments in school classrooms

A Texas law that would require the Ten Commandments from the Christian Bible to be displayed in every public school has received a temporary block from a federal judge in the United States.

US District Judge Fred Biery issued a preliminary injunction on Wednesday against Texas’s Senate Bill 10, which was scheduled to go into effect on September 1.

Texas would have become the state with the most public schools in the nation.

However, Judge Biery’s decision is in line with two other court decisions made in the past month, both of which declared that unconstitutional laws in Arkansas and Louisiana.

The First Amendment of the US Constitution, which forbids the government from passing laws “respecting an establishment of religion,” opens Biery’s decision. In the US, the separation of church and state is supported by that clause.

The judge then contends that even “passive” Ten Commandments displays could potentially violate the separation by introducing religious discourse into the classroom.

The captive audience of students is likely to have questions that teachers feel compelled to respond to, even though the Ten Commandments would not be affirmatively taught. That is what Biery argued.

“Teenage boys might ask, “Mrs. Walker, I know about lying and I love my parents, but how do I commit adultery,” given their peculiar hormonally driven nature. For overworked and underpaid educators who already have to deal with issues involving sex education, this is undoubtedly an awkward situation.

However, Alamo Heights, Houston, Austin, Fort Bend, and Plano are just a few of the 11 school districts that are represented by the defendants in Biery’s decision.

A number of parents of children who were school-aged and who were represented by organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Americans United for Separation of Church and State filed a complaint.

A San Antonio rabbi, Mara Nathan, filed a lawsuit because she thought the Ten Commandments’ presentation was incompatible with Jewish teachings. In a statement from the ACLU, she applauded the injunction on Wednesday.

Parents and faith communities, not politicians and public schools, should teach children’s religious beliefs, Nathan said.

Other plaintiffs included Christian families who feared that religious interpretations and ideas might be taught through the Ten Commandments’ school displays.

However, the Texas state government has argued that schools are required to have copies of the Ten Commandments because they represent a significant component of American culture.

The Ten Commandments are a pillar of our moral and legal heritage, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who issued a statement. They are a reminder of the principles that underlie responsible citizenship. He said he would appeal the decision on Wednesday.

Judge Biery, who was appointed by Democratic President Bill Clinton in 1994, drew on a range of cultural references to create a history of the dangers of imposing religion on the populace.

At one point, Biery remarked, “The displays are likely to pressure the child-Plaintiffs into religious observance, meditation on, veneration, and adoption of the State’s preferred religious scripture.”

He added that “these displays run the risk of suppressing the children’s] own religious or nonreligious beliefs while they are in school.”

Biery even shared a winking, personal anecdote to illustrate how powerful governments are in favor of religious freedom.

In fact, a Methodist preacher said to a judge who was at the time, “Fred, if you had been born in Tibet, you would be a Buddhist,” Biery wrote.

The Ten Commandment requirement is also challenged in a separate federal case involving Dallas-area schools. The Texas Education Agency is a defendant, according to the document.

The Supreme Court, which currently has a six-to-three conservative supermajority and has shown sympathy for cases involving religious displays, is likely to eventually hear these cases.

In Kennedy v. Bremerton School District in 2022, for example, the Supreme Court agreed with a high school football coach who claimed he had the right to hold post-game prayers despite concerns that they might be in violation of the First Amendment. For his actions, the coach had been fired.

Judge Biery nods off to how contentious these kinds of cases can be in his decision on Wednesday. However, he made a prayer-like flourish to plead for understanding.

Texas Republicans approve controversial Trump-backed congressional map

After dozens of Democratic lawmakers ended a two-week walkout that had temporarily stymied passage, Texas legislators passed a new state congressional map drawn at the behest of US President Donald Trump’s request to redraw a map of the state’s legislature to allow him to redraw five of the country’s five-member US House seats in the upcoming midterm elections.

The map was initially approved by Republican-controlled Texas House of Representatives members on Wednesday night, but Democratic lawmakers made it known during the session that it was not made available for public hearings.

On Wednesday, Texas Democrats raised a number of questions and objections to the measure.

Before the bill’s passage, Democrat representative John Bucy claimed from the floor that the new maps were blatantly intended to stifle the votes of Black, Latino, and Asian voters and that his Republican colleagues’ bending to Trump’s will was deeply worrying.

Bucy remarked, “This is authoritarianism in real time, not democracy.” Donald Trump’s map is on this one. Because Trump is aware that the electorate is rejecting his agenda, it is clearly and purposefully creating five more Republican seats in Congress.

Republicans claimed that the map was intended to increase the number of predominantly Hispanic districts.

President Trump urged the Texas House of Representatives to approve the extraordinary mid-decade revision of congressional maps, which would give his party a better chance of holding onto the US House of Representatives in the upcoming election. Before they can become official, the state Senate must approve the maps and sign them with Governor Greg Abbott’s signature.

Texas’ state legislative Democrats evaded the state by escaping the state earlier this month in protest, and they were given round-the-clock police monitoring upon their return to ensure they were present on Wednesday’s session. They delayed the vote by two weeks.

Democrats voluntarily returned on Monday, saying they had succeeded in preventing a vote during the first special legislative session and persuading Democrats in other states to take retaliatory measures.

The Democratic-controlled state Legislature of California is likely to approve its own new House map, which aims to create five Democratic-leaning districts, after the Texas maps are approved. California’s map would need voter approval in November before it becomes official, in contrast to Texas.

Three measures are expected to be approved by the California Legislature on Thursday morning: creating new congressional districts, authorizing the replacement map, and holding a special election in November to get the support of the electorate.

Democrats have also vowed to file legal action to challenge the new Texas map, and they have alleged that Republicans used their political leverage to pass legislation to stop deadly floods that swept the state last month.

Other Republican states, as well as Democratic ones like Maryland and Illinois, are pursuing or considering their own redistricting initiatives.

It was announced back in June that production had begun on the sequel to the Devil Wears Prada (2006) ahead of its release next year. The upcoming film’s release is due to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original, which is based on the novel of the same name, published in 2003.

They include Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprising their roles as Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs respectively. They are joined by Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, who are back as Emily Charlton and Nigel Kipling respectively.

In the first movie, Anne was depicted as Andy, a personal assistant to Miranda, the editor of the fashion magazine. She was seen in a black dress, a long coat, and heels. She paired her sunglasses with a matching handbag and handbag.

Instead of playing lead Anne, Stanley’s character Nigel, who was Runway magazine’s art director, wore a dark suit and matching shoes. While filming in the city, the actor was occasionally seen holding an umbrella.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it has been reported that the co-stars were filming a funeral scene. Since then, there have been rumors about Miranda and Emily’s possible murder.

Someone else questioned whether Emily, who had been cast as Miranda’s senior assistant, might have passed away. “Oh Emily died,” they wrote.

While others have questioned whether someone else will be killed instead. Fans have suggested that Irv Ravitz (played by Tibor Feldman), who was the company’s chairman in the first movie, might pass away in the sequel, with one saying, “It’s gotta be Irv.”

Details about the plot, including whether there is a funeral, have yet to be announced. Alongside the returning actors, new additions to the cast for the Devil Wears Prada 2 are said to include Kenneth Branagh and Lucy Liu.

Sam Faiers sparks huge backlash over ‘dangerous’ health advice about nephew’s surgery

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article35750433.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/3_Sam-Billie-Sister-Act-First-Look-At-New-Series-2.jpg

After advising her sister Billie to look at holistic options before pursuing her young son’s tonsil removal, TV star Sam Faiers sparked controversy.

Sam Faiers has come under fire after suggesting her sister Billie consider alternative health approaches instead of scheduling her son’s tonsillectomy.

In a scene from their television series Sister Act, Billie states that Arthur, the daughter of Arthur, is scheduled to have his tonsils removed after falling ill. Arthur is “getting his tonsils out,” he claims. He was diagnosed with tonsillitis six times last year, according to her.

“When the doctor looked at them, straight away he said to me ‘nah… they are really, really unhealthy tonsils.” She adds: “But tonsils serve no purpose in your body.” It comes after Sam’s heartache after cruel thieves stole her late grandmother’s precious wedding ring.

Sam disagrees with the decision and advocates allergy testing first, despite later claiming that she leans toward holistic health. She contends that “everything in your body serves a purpose.”

When your body says something is wrong and you have a rash, a bump in your body, tonsils raised, hair falling out, or a rash, it’s because your body is telling you something’s wrong.

It’s Arthur’s body telling him that he has an allergy, or, you know, he has a virus, and that’s how he responds. How else will his body tell you that something is wrong when they’re out, then?

Billie responds, saying that she “has some sort of intolerance or allergy.” “Sam’s comments, however, caused controversy online, with online critics accusing her of spreading false information.

She’s not a doctor, according to one viewer, and she shouldn’t be able to offer dangerous advice. “Mrs. Know It All” was another term for her.

Another user shared a personal warning as they wrote: “Don’t ever mess about waiting for tonsils out… I was rushed into hospital because it made me so ill. I’ve had fibromyalgia for 15 years, and now severe arthritis. I wish I could dream everything be OK with positivity or a cream or holistic, but life’s not like that.”

Earlier this summer, Sam also came under fire for controversial comments she made about sun cream. The reality star took to social media to reveal she doesn’t get her children to wear sun cream.

The former TOWIE star explained that her kids have “built up a really good tolerance to being in the sun” as she made wild claims about sunscreen having “pretty harmful and full of toxic ingredients” in, which has been discredited by a skin doctor.

She stated in a lengthy post on social media that “It’s always a bit contentious, but honestly, my entire family doesn’t actually wear sunscreen.” The children have developed a great tolerance for sun over time.

“Of course, I’ll make sure we head into the shade if it’s very hot and the sun feels too harsh,” he said, “typically around lunchtime, we’ll go in, have something to eat, and just avoid those peak hours.”

She continued, “I’m really careful about sunscreen in general because a lot of them are actually pretty harmful and full of toxic ingredients.” SPF swimwear is a great and safer option if you do want to keep your kids safe.

Don’t be afraid of the sun, either! I enjoy letting the kids run around and soak it up because it’s good for them, especially when it’s less strong in the morning or later in the afternoon. Having said that, just in case I need to take a Tallow Zinc SPF with me when I leave. And it’s necessary to wear hats or caps! No one wants additional sun damage, especially for us ladies.

The comments were later heavily criticised by a skin doctor.

The Mirror has approached Sam’s representatives for comment on this story.
