I’m A Celebrity icon says show ‘made him look like such a bad person’

A former star of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has opened up about their time on the show confessing that they feel like they were made to look like a ‘bad person’

Former professional boxer Amir Khan has suggested that he was made to look like the “bad guy” during his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. He opened up about his famous scene where he and Iain Lee were both appearing on the show in 2017.

The duo were seen wolfing down a portion of strawberries and cream and not sharing them with their hunger-stricken campmates at the time. The sportsman has no insisted he never intended for the decision to eat the dish to cause drama in the camp.

He said: “At the time, when I ate them, I thought, yeah, I’m having them. I didn’t know the cameras were rolling, and that people back home were going to be watching.”

Speaking to the Daily Star, he continued, “See, this is the thing, I didn’t realise how big of a show I’m a Celebrity was. I’d never watched it before. I didn’t know how the system worked.

“But when I re-watched what I did, the way it was edited made me look like such a bad person, like I was doing it on purpose to upset everyone in camp. But honestly, I was just being silly, a bit boisterous. That’s just who I am.”

As he recalled the moment in a further reflection, Amir admitted it was controversial. He said: “Looking back, it made me look bad. But would I do it again? I probably would. Yeah, why not? But this time, I’d tell them straight: ‘Yeah, I ate them, what are you going to do about it?’

“I remember there was Jamie Lomas, Georgia Toffolo, and even Stanley Johnson, Boris Johnson ’s dad. Even if I did say I ate them, I don’t think they could’ve done anything anyway.”

Now as I’m A Celeb: All Stars is set to make a comeback, Amir has shared how he feels about doing the show twice. He said, “The first one is always harder. You’re not expecting how intense, how crazy it’s going to be.

“You’re suddenly stuck with snakes and spiders, you just can’t imagine they’d do something like that to you. The second time, it’s easier because you know what to expect.”

He also shared how the first experience was more nerve wracking, but helped him to become braver. He noted that he feels the situation could be the same for fellow former boxer David Haye, who is taking part in the upcoming series of All Stars.

Amir said: “If an animal bites you, you’ve got a first aid team to make sure you’re alright. I still took that leap even though I was scared, and it pulled me through. So, I think with David Haye going in again, he’s going to smash it. He’ll do much better than the first time because he knows what to expect.”

Darts sensation Beau Greaves extended her remarkable winning run in the PDC Women’s Series to 86 matches with victory in the final four tournaments of the season.

The 21-year-old from Doncaster announced on Friday that she would compete in the PDC World Championship, days after beating world number two Luke Littler in the World Youth Championship semi-finals.

Her focus switched back to the women’s game this weekend and a run of four tournaments in Wigan over two days – two on Saturday and two on Sunday – to bring the PDC Women’s Series to a close.

Greaves won all 28 of her matches over the weekend, beating Fallon Sherrock 5-4 in both of Saturday’s finals before defeating Gemma Hayter 5-0 and the Netherlands ‘ Noa-Lynn van Leuven 5-3 in Sunday’s finals.

Her latest victories took her tally to 18 tournament wins out of the 24 on offer, including the past 13 in a row.

She will be one of five players from the Women’s Series to compete at the PDC World Championship, which starts at London’s Alexandra Palace on 11 December

Sherrock, Hayter and Van Leuven qualify via their Women’s Series ranking points, while top-ranked Greaves made it courtesy of her performances on the Development Tour and Lisa Ashton as Women’s World Matchplay champion.

Greaves, Sherrock, Ashton and Van Leuven have all played at the World Championship before, with Van Leuven becoming the first transgender player to compete last year, losing 3-1 to Kevin Doets.

Slade stars as Exeter crush Harlequins in Prem

Feyi-Waboso, Slade 2, Skinner, and Fisilau Cons: Slade 5 Pens: Slade 5

Exeter continued their resurgence with a thumping Prem win over Harlequins, led by England centre Henry Slade, who scored two tries and kicked 13 points.

In a 10-minute first-half spell, the Chiefs stunned Quins with three tries, with Slade being at the forefront when he set up Immanuel Feyi-Waboso’s opener before being blocked by Australian debutant Len Ikitau.

Four minutes after half-time, Greg Fisilau went over in the corner for a bonus-point try, while Harvey Skinner made it 24-0 at the break by capitalizing on a Harlequins error.

Before Slade scored his second try in the final seconds, the hosts, who had almost two thirds of the country’s possession and territory, did not concede a point for the first time in almost two years thanks to a stifling defense.

Excellent Exeter debuts Ikitau and Hooper.

Before kick-off, Exeter were dealt a blow by veteran winger Olly Woodburn, who had recovered from a knee ligament injury, when he failed a late fitness test.

In a wet and windy first quarter, both teams made errors as a result of Slade’s early penalty.

When Australia’s centre Ikitau joined Exeter’s highly regarded backline, Slade was their longest-serving player who showed his class when his 26th-minute kick-pass to the right was collected by England team-mate Feyi-Waboso for his sixth try in four games.

As a result, Slade switched from providing to scoring as a result of Quins’ failure to handle a high ball, and Ikitau reacted as quickly as he popped the ball to the England man who went in under the posts.

With the wind at their backs, Quins’ failure to deal with the high ball cost them once more, as Skinner pounced on the error and kicked past Tyrone Green before scoring the home side’s third try.

After the break, Exeter’s forwards immediately started working, opening the door for number eight Fisilau to go over in the left corner with Ikitau’s Wallabies team-mate Tom Hooper also making his debut.

After the break, Bachuki Tchumbadze, the team’s replacement quarterback, was sin-binned for a high tackle.

However, with the weather improving, Exeter’s defense made sure Quins didn’t get close to their line before the Londoners’ skipper Caden Murley went to the bin for a deliberate knock-on with 12 minutes left to sum up his side’s day.

As their disappointing start to the season wore on, Harry Browne’s replacement was sin-binned for a high hit on Tchumbadze, who further diminished them.

Ross McMillan, the forward’s coach at Exeter, told BBC Sport:

“I believed we had reacted to the frustrations of the previous week.

The guys showed that today, but I don’t believe anyone who visited Sandy Park this week anticipated receiving the full amount of annoyance.

We discussed Bristol and what we wanted from each other, and we both left feeling resentful.

So I was really pleased, and I can tell you that the group really enjoyed the response.

Jason Gilmore, the senior Harlequins coach, told BBC Sport: “

If you compare two performances in eight days, this is the consistency piece I’m talking about with our football club, and it was a reality check for us, which is probably where we’re at right now.

“Our good is very good, but we also have a bad day,” he said. That’s a challenge that everyone of us must overcome, and how we manage to iron it out is where this team keeps competing better each week. It’s definitely more about mindset than anything else, in my opinion.

We were hungry around the collision point, and we showed really good fight, according to the game last week.

“We weren’t as active in the aerial battle today,” he asks. Exeter did a fantastic job and won the game, but we hardly won any ball in the air today.

Big Brother star Farida slams Nancy as a ‘mean girl’ as she secretly returns to show

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36094647.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_Farida-is-the-first-housemate-to-be-evicted-from-the-house.jpg

Former housemate Farida had some explosive remarks to say about current housemate Nancy as she returns to the show alongside a controversial Big Brother star

Big Brother has welcomed back a familiar face. 2023 evictee Farida Khalifa headed back into the house via a secret room and shared some explosive remarks about current housemate Nancy Nocerino with fellow secret housemate Sam Ashby as she re-entered the show.

Following the fake eviction of housemate Sam, co-hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best revealed that Sam, Farida and controversial former housemate Emily Hewertson would be heading to a secret room to watch the other housemates before joining them again.

In the secret room, Farida and Sam got talking, and Farida branded Sam’s pal Nancy a “mean girl”. Last week, Nancy and Sam were caught out calling 20-year-old Jenny Baird “fake”, leading to a huge bust-up between the three of them. Ultimately, their fellow housemates put both Nancy and Sam up for eviction because of the situation, and that’s how Sam ended up being ‘evicted’ and sent to the secret room.

Weighing in on the situation, Farida said: “Unfortunately, [Nancy] is giving mean girls vibes.” Sam then asked if Farida thought his friendship with Nancy had put him “in a bad position”. The make-up artist responded: “If you align yourself with the wrong person, you’ve… it’s just the way it is.

“You’ve already had the experience where you nearly got chopped on the head, do you know what I mean? And that’s because of the person that you’re aligning yourself to, and it’s… it’s just food for thought.”

In the secret room, Sam, Farida and Emily will be able to take part in behind-the-scenes challenges and control aspects of the main house before rejoining the group.

Emily was the first housemate evicted from this series of Big Brother. She was put up for eviction during the first episode by the public, along with Sam and Caroline Monk. When the decision was put to the nominated housemates, Sam and Caroline ultimately voted for Emily to leave after failing to be convinced she should stay.

The evicted housemate was a controversial pick for the show, as she had already built a name for herself as a vocal advocate for the Conservative party. In her introductory clip, Emily told viewers that those who would “never kiss a Tory” are missing out and added that she was hoping to find her husband on the show.

Many fans were put off by her politics and feared her outspoken nature would lead to arguments in the house. Others were also put off by her clear desire to use the show as a dating opportunity and many headed to X to remind Emily that this was Big Brother, “not Love Island”.

Her return has also been controversial. One X user said it was “absolutely vile” to bring Emily back, given her vocal support of Donald Trump and Nigel Farage, and that they were “disgusted by ITV and Big Brother giving this evil woman a platform”.

Another said they would not be watching again, and another said: “WHY? Who’s next? Katie Hopkins? Perez Hilton? Satan? Way to kill a season.”

Nnamdi Kanu: FCT NSCDC Warns Protesters Against Vandalism

Members of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow movement are being advised by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to refrain from vandalizing crucial national assets and infrastructure (CNAI) in the Federal Capital Territory.

In response to Omoyele Sowore’s plans to stage a protest on Monday for the release of the self-declared Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, disclosed this in a statement.

Odumosu urged people to “adhere strictly to the provisions of the court order,” whether they were in favor or against the planned rally on Sunday.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, DSC Monica Ojobi, he was quoted as saying, “The corps will not tolerate any form of destruction, vandalism, or theft of public and private facilities in the name of protest.”

Massive deployment

According to him, the Corps has massively deployed officers and men to safeguard all CNAI and ensure residents’ protection before, during, and after the protest.

“We are as always prepared to make sure there are no incidents of property destruction or threats to the stability of the area.”

The deployed officers and men were chosen from specialist units, including Area Commands and Divisions, and were given thorough instruction on the duties and safety measures during the rally, he claimed.

Further, Odumosu added that law enforcement had been instructed not to shoot, harass, or intimidate any law-abiding citizens, but that vandals and criminals trying to hijack the situation would not be tolerated.

He also urged the deployed men to behave morally by carrying out the corps’ duties in a non-kinetic manner.

However, the commandant cautioned those who wanted to hijack or obstruct the planned peaceful protest to abstain.

According to him, anyone found with criminal intent will be detained and dealt with in accordance with current laws.

He urged all law-abiding citizens to carry on their daily lives because deployments have been made to strategically important locations and hot spots to uphold order.

Pro-Nnamdi Kanu Protest

Despite a Federal High Court’s ban on demonstrations near important government locations in Abuja, Sowore had vowed to carry out the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.

Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB leader, has been in custody since his extradition from Kenya in 2021, and is facing terrorism charges, and the protest is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025.
