Trump claims Middle East countries offered to fight Hamas in Gaza

In response to the flimsy ceasefire in the area, US President Donald Trump has made the suggestion that several Middle Eastern nations have offered to send forces to Gaza to combat Hamas. He has also reiterated his threats to the Palestinian organization.

On Tuesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social that “some of our NOW GREAT ALLIES in the Middle East, and areas surrounding the Middle East, have explicitly and strongly informed me that they would welcome the opportunity to enter GAZA with a heavy force and “righten our Hamas” if Hamas continues to act badly in violation of their agreement with us.

Trump didn’t specify which nations offered to enter Gaza, but he did mention Indonesia as a potential partner.

Trump praised Indonesia, a great and powerful nation, and its wonderful leader for all the support they have provided to the Middle East and the United States, according to Trump.

No nation has indicated that it would clash directly with Hamas, despite Jakarta and other governments’ offers to send peacekeeping troops to bring back stability and security in Gaza.

“This is the most incredible show of love and spirit for the Middle East in a thousand years!” It is stunning to see! I declared, “Not YET! !” to these nations and Israel. Hamas may continue to pursue its goals, according to the US president.

“Hamas will end in a hurry, finite, and brutal” if they don’t!

Since the ceasefire ended on October 10 and nearly 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israel.

Trump frequently threatens Hamas with the same kind. However, it is unclear what Israel’s ability as a US or any other force can do to strong-arm the Palestinian group.

In a genocide campaign, which led to the deaths of most of Hamas’ political and military leaders and was supported by Israel, leveling Gaza to the ground, and imposing famine on the area, according to leading rights groups and UN investigators.

Trump had hailed the ceasefire, which his administration had helped to broker, as a historic turning point for regional peace.

Israel has been killing Palestinians since the start of the truce, asserting that they were approaching unmarked areas under Israeli military control.

In addition, Israel has continued to restrict aid to Gaza despite promises made in the agreement that would have prompted an increase in humanitarian aid to the area.

Israel has only permitted the entry of 986 aid trucks since the start of the ceasefire, a fraction of the 6,600 trucks expected, at a rate of 600 per day, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.

Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Sunday that left the agreement at odds with it and completely curbed Gaza’s access to aid after two Israeli soldiers were killed in Rafah.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the troop deaths, but the Palestinian organization refuted any involvement, underscoring the fact that the incident occurred in a region under Israeli control.

The Israeli soldiers were killed after they crossed an unexploded ordnance, according to some US media reports.

Questions remain over Gaza’s long-term future, including how the territory will be administered, in addition to the everyday problems that threaten the truce.

Hamas must disarm, according to Trump, but the Palestinian organization has linked giving up its weapons to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

No precise date has been set for Hamas’ disarmament, Trump told Fox News on Sunday.

Real reason Charles evicted Harry and Meghan but let Prince Andrew stay in Royal Lodge

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33538048.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_Trooping-The-Colour-2018.jpg

Even though King Charles previously expelled Harry and Meghan from their royal residence, Prince Andrew may be giving up on the use of his titles.

Prince Andrew may have stated that he no longer intends to use the title of Duke of York, but he still enjoys access to a stately mansion in Windsor Great Park.

Since the Queen Mother passed away and the King’s brother has taken over the seven-bedroom property, Royal Lodge, Andrew has resided there.

It’s been widely reported that for some time, King Charles has been trying to persuade his errant younger brother to move out of the opulent home – but his attempts have been in vain.

Andrew is showing no signs of budging from Royal Lodge, a home he shares with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, even though new reports show he he’s paid barely any rent rent on the property for years.

In 2003, Andrew signed a 75-year lease on the historic property, which paid him £1 million. However, his leasehold agreement, as seen by the Press Association, only calls for him to pay “one peppercorn” as rent “if required.”

The Crown Estate, from which he purchased the lease, would have to pay him £558, 000 if Andrew did consent to it, which Charles is said to have heavily encouraged.

The Crown Estate has obtained a copy of the lease from the press, and it is reported that he had to pay £7.5 million for the property’s “cast iron” renovations until 2078.

Due to allegations that he did not receive any significant inheritance from his mother, the late Queen, or his grandmother, the Queen Mother, it is unclear how Andrew manages the 30-room property.

Andrew was reportedly given a £1 million annual allowance by the late Queen when she was alive, but King Charles is said to have stopped this flow of income.

Andrew cannot be forced to leave the property because of the nature of the lease, but when Charles wanted Harry and Meghan out of a royal residence, he was spared such a challenge.

Harry and Meghan were given the lease on Frogmore Cottage by the late Queen Elizabeth when they got married, but in 2023 – after the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, which detailed allegations of private dysfunction in the House of Windsor – he was ordered to hand back the keys.

The Sussexes had, only months before the memoir’s publication, also released a self-titled documentary series for Netflix, which detailed their love story, the reasons behind their shock royal exit in 2020, and its fallout.

After returning as working royals and leaving the UK, the couple had refunded the Sovereign Grant’s £2.4 million spent on Frogmore renovations.

However, it appears unusual on the surface that Andrew has remained in his, beset by serious allegations that he has repeatedly and firmly refuted, while their royal property was taken from them as a result of internal family conflict.

The question of why Charles seemed to be able to evict Harry and Meghan but he seemed unable to change his younger brother’s behavior seems to be the kind of lease in question.

The Duke and Duchess moved into Frogmore in 2019 and had renewed their lease a year before their unceremonious eviction, according to a report from March 2022. This suggests that their lease for the property was less restrictive than Andrew’s’ with the Crown Estate’s.

The couple, who were not planning to move back to the UK permanently, are said to have desired to maintain a base in Harry’s native country, and Frogmore was one of the protection options available to royal homes in Windsor.

When Harry and Meghan left their jobs as working royals, their automatic police security was removed, so Frogmore provided a safe haven for the young family if they came over. They also used it prior to their eviction, which is said to have occurred shortly after Harry’s memoir was published.

Royal author Omid Scobie said at the time the eviction was made public: “Just five minutes walk from Windsor Castle, and ensconced within the Metropolitan Police-led ring of steel surrounding the Windsor Estate, the couple’s British home has become Prince Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet’s only sufficiently secure refuge in the country since their access to armed police protection was taken away in 2020.”

According to a couple friend, “It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment… The family seems to want to permanently remove them from the picture.

The Sussexes reportedly paid Frogmore Cottage’s owners a sizable upfront rent while also covering the cost of the property’s renovation.

Harry wrote in his memoir about the allegations made against his uncle Andrew, and the fact that the King’s brother had kept his security for some time despite their serious nature, which contrasted with the swift decision made about the Sussexes.

He explained to Meghan that he had told her that he thought there was no way for Andrew’s police security to be compromised because he had not been when he had left his position as a prince in 2019.

Meet the Sunday League team with 1,800 Premier League appearances

Wythenshawe AFC

How do you improve a stellar veteran team who have won back-to-back titles, including a league-cup double featuring 30 wins from 32 games?

Recruit a raft of former professionals who have played at the highest level of club and international football as you target more silverware.

Manchester club Wythenshawe AFC have an amateur vets team with nine former Premier League players in their current squad.

222 Premier League goals, 325 international caps

Wythenshawe Vets Over-35s are based in south Manchester and play in the Cheshire Vets League Premier Division.

Their squad list this season boasts nine former Premier League players, with a combined 1,801 top-flight appearances.

The elite roster also contains 222 Premier League goals and 325 international caps.

They include Papiss Cisse, who scored 37 goals in 117 appearances for Newcastle United after joining for £9m from Bundesliga side Freiburg in January 2012.

Cisse made his debut for Wythenshawe in their last home game against reigning champions Collegiate Old Boys and scored all six goals in a 6-2 win – including a 32-minute first-half hat-trick.

Wythenshawe’s squad for this season also includes former pros such as England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey, Hull and Burnley winger George Boyd, Everton striker Oumar Niasse, Wigan full-back Maynor Figueroa, Manchester City duo Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha and Premier League title winners Joleon Lescott and Danny Drinkwater.

Ireland began playing for the team during pre-season this summer through close friend and current Wythenshawe player Blake Norton, and the former Republic of Ireland midfielder then invited other ex-pros, who all play in a midweek nine-a-side game, to join in.

“My friend Stephen Ireland said ‘come and play, it’s good fun’,” said Niasse.

“Then he told me we were playing a team from Liverpool and the shock I had when I saw them wearing Everton shirts – I say this is wrong for me!

“When you still love football and you know you can still do it, anywhere you can play football, what are you going to do?

“The people who come and watch are happy and to make someone’s day if they see us playing there and to ask us questions – it’s more like the joy of us having somewhere we can play, with organisation of course.”

Such is the squad depth at Wythenshawe, Niasse made his debut at full-back.

“It’s a bit different but then, I love running and just go inside – I’m not defending that much,” he said.

“I tell my centre-back ‘I’m not staying’ and that I’m just going to keep running.

‘Surreal experience’

Along with Cisse’s six goals on debut, Ireland has scored eight in three appearances for Wythenshawe, while Boyd hit five on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a hat-trick in one game up front.

Wythenshawe are top of the Premier Division with three wins from three and a goal difference of +19.

Paul Barrow, 38, who plays on the wing for Collegiate OB, faced former Wigan full-back Figueroa on Sunday – and had to explain to his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.

Figueroa has played at two World Cups for Honduras, in addition to playing in more than 200 Premier League games.

“It was going round like wildfire they had all these ex-Premier League players,” said Barrow.

“I think I was a bit starstruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

“Even Emile [Heskey] got on and he’s got 60-odd England caps.

“We held our own for a good 20 minutes but then we had a man sent off and it was hard.

“We literally haven’t stopped talking about it – I was phoning my mum and brother on the way home.

“They were all dead sound, shaking our hands after the game – it was like playing a bunch of normal fellas.

‘We’ll still win the league’

Andy Kirby manages the Collegiate vets side, who won the Premier Division title last season, along with Paul Maguire.

“We went 1-0 up and had a chance to make it 2-0, but once we had a player sent off we were up against it and four quick goals killed the game for us,” said Kirby.

“From where we’ve been in local amateur football, to winning the league, getting into a County Cup final – this is phenomenal for our lads.

Players who were worth millions paying match subs

Carl Barratt is chairman of Wythenshawe AFC and joined the club 24 years ago when his son started playing for a junior team.

It has since developed from five teams into an operation of 70, including two successful men’s and women’s senior sides who play in the North West Counties and National League respectively.

“We had 178 people here watching on Sunday – and that’s only going to grow,” said Barratt.

“The vets team has always been successful and had a very good season last year.

“The funniest part of it all is that these players have been worth millions and my wife has been sending them letters to set up their subscriptions for their subs.

“She comes to me and says ‘we’ve signed someone called Emile Heskey’ and then we’re asking him for £15 a week.

Barratt has overseen significant development at the club and believes the involvement of the former Premier League players will have a positive impact on the area.

“Wythenshawe is a small community of 110,000 people,” he added.

Hunger Games stage show slammed as ‘a shambles’ by fans citing long queues and late start

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36108226.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_downloadjpeg.jpg

Hunger Games fans have been left disappointed after a chaotic preview night, which saw long delays, lengthy queues and even complaints over a lack of disability access

Trouble has been brewing in the Capitol. The long-anticipated Hunger Games stage show has come under heavy fire from fans after its first preview on Monday, who have described the show as a “shambles”.

The on-stage adaptation of Suzanne Collin’s acclaimed young adult series opened at London’s specially-built Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre on the 20th of October. The show features John Malkovich as the villain President Snow and Mia Carragher as Katniss Everdeen.

But while fans were looking forward to the new live twist on the famous series, many were left disappointed by a laundry list of issues – including lengthy delays.

Footage shared on TikTok showed audience members queuing outside the theatre at 7: 29pm, a minute before the show was due to start, with some claiming it eventually started an hour late. Others complained that due to the three-hour run time and interval, this meant they didn’t leave the venue until 11: 45pm.

Some fans said they still enjoyed the show, despite the chaos. One X user wrote: “Had to leave The Hunger Games early, was actually enjoying it despite the shambles of getting into the venue”.

“Hunger Games on stage view from district 11 row A. Really good despite being called restricted view. The venue and organisation was messy but the play itself was amazing”, another added.

However, it wasn’t just the long wait times that had fans disappointed. Disability influencer Sophie-Jayne Butler claimed she left the theatre before the show started and claimed a refund on her ticket because her seat in the venue “wasn’t accessible”.

She said in a TikTok video: “I couldn’t see anything from my seat. I was unable to see the stage from my window. The view of the set was then viewed in a picture with a metal rail.

Sophie continued, noting that she was told it wasn’t possible to inquire about alternative seating when she went to the box office. She claimed that the situation was “deal with it” or that you could get a refund.

She continued, “I’ve been anticipating this for so long,” adding, “I’m so disappointed.” I don’t understand why accessibility issues like this persist in 2025.

Britain’s Got Talent judges ‘speechless’ as legend makes comeback after 57 years

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36108943.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_Britains-Got-Talent-2015.jpg

The judges on Britain’s Got Talent are left in shock as the actress Shani Wallis who played Nancy from Oscar-winning movie Oliver auditions – and goes down a storm

The actress who played Nancy from Oscar-winning movie Oliver is making a comeback…at the age of 92. Shani Wallis went down a storm with Britain’s Got Talent judges after auditioning for the ITV show.

She sang As Long As He Needs Me from the 1968 film. After a standing ovation, Shana told the judges: “I was here on this stage 70 years ago but you probably know me as Nancy from the motion picture, Oliver. I wanted to be back on stage doing what I love. It would be wonderful to win”.

Judge Amanda Holden was left stunned. She said: “I feel really star struck, that is one of my all time favourite movies.” Alesha Dixon added: “Me too. Oh my god. I love you. What an honour to see you today. I’ve watched you so many times.” The scenes will be aired next year.

Oliver won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. It starred Mark Lester in the title role, Ron Moody as Fagin, Oliver Reed as Bill Sikes, Harry Secombe as Mr Bumble, and Jack Wild as The Artful Dodger. Shani has said previously of her relationship with hard-drinking Reed: “Oliver Reed never actually hurt me but he was very frightening. The truth is, I had little to nothing to do with Oliver Reed off-set, his life, I believe was complicated.”

After the film, she appeared in TV series such as Charlie’s Angels and Murder She Wrote, was a regular in daytime soap The Young And The Restless, and appeared in films Terror In The Wax Museum and The Mojave Phone Booth. She has previously said that despite Oliver’s success, it didn’t provide the platform she would have liked.

“No, but that was my fault”, she said at the time. “When I came back to America, I had offers to do what became a very famous series on television, The Brady Bunch. I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to do movies. But then movie musicals like Doctor Dolittle flopped and they decided not to make any more, which was a big blow. I went back into theatre and nightclubs. If I’d stayed in the UK after Oliver!, I’d probably still be working hard. But I had an ultimatum from my husband”.

Article continues below

Shani was married to American agent Bernie Rich from 1965 until his death in 2016. She said: “Bernie said: ‘ If you want to be with me, I won’t live anywhere but California. ‘”
