Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia, has stated that while the suspension of American aid might not be beneficial to his nation, there might be some positive effects from changing military funding.
What happens if aid is taken away? Nothing, Petro said to reporters on Thursday, adding that American workers and US agencies frequently received aid.

However, he continued, a halt in military cooperation would be significant.
Petro remarked that “we would now have some issues with military aid,” adding that the loss of US helicopters would be the most significant impact.
Trump, the president of the United States, threatened over the weekend to impose tariffs on Colombia and announced on Wednesday that all funding for the nation had been suspended.
Colombia was once one of the Western Hemisphere’s largest recipients of US aid, but USAID, the government’s humanitarian assistance arm, suddenly shut down this year. The military cooperation has continued.
Some US military personnel are still in Colombia and the two countries continue to share intelligence, even though the Trump administration has already “decertified” Colombia’s efforts to combat drug trafficking.
Petro has protested the US military’s Caribbean strike, which has resulted in the deaths of dozens of people and heightened tensions there. The actions have been condemned by a number of legal experts and human rights advocates.
Petro’s government claims that Trump’s use of the terms “bad guy” and “illegal drug leader” is offensive.
Petro has called off the ambassador of his country’s to Washington, DC, but he did manage to meet with the US’s ambassador in Bogota late on Sunday.
Trump said on Wednesday that he may take serious action against Colombia, adding that he has not yet announced any additional tariffs on top of the 10-percent rate currently in place for the country.
Petro claimed that Trump is unlikely to impose tariffs on Colombia’s oil and coal exports, which account for 60% of its US exports, while reducing the impact of tariffs on other sectors could be done by looking for alternative markets.
An increase in tariffs would change a well-known US policy position that free trade can boost legitimate exports over drug trafficking, and analysts predict that increasing duties will eventually lead to increased drug trafficking.
Petro reported that it has made record-sealed 2,800 metric tonnes of cocaine in three years, partly as a result of increased efforts to locate Pacific ports where container ships are used for smuggling. Despite his government’s struggle to control major centers for rebel and criminal activity.

Victoria Beckham has been keeping busy by promoting her Netflix documentary, but fans still have questions about her and the Beckham family’s feud with Brooklyn. Her and David’s eldest son, Brooklyn, have been hitting headlines this year after he missed many big family events.
Despite the tense relationship, Posh Spice recently showed her support for her firstborn son after he shared a cooking video on his Instagram page. On Thursday, former aspiring photographer Brooklyn took to his social media page to demonstrate how he cooks buttermilk pancakes.
Fans figured out quickly that Victoria and David, both footballers, liked the post, and emailed the comment section.

One fan wrote, “His mum is liking his posts, they miss you, just give them a call,” while another wrote, “His mum just liked the posts.
You appear very depressed. One person remarked, “Make up with your family and you’ll feel much happier.”
It comes after Victoria discussed her family and fashion design career on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
When Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy asked how she had stepped back and “allowing her children to make their own decisions,” Victoria responded, “I mean, we’re such a close family.
We always let them know that any topics they want to discuss in a safe place, as they say, and communication is key. That is extremely crucial. However, they must embark on their own journeys. ‘.
When probed further on how she and David navigate the shifting dynamics within their family, she maintained: “Again, it’s just about communicating. We’ve always been that way with the kids. And I’m excited for them, they’re all very different. They all like to do different things.”
Brooklyn seems to be actively pursuing “different things” right now. The aspiring photographer turned budding chef has no immediate plans to end the fight with his parents and siblings, according to Victoria’s candid conversation.
A source has alleged that Brooklyn is “really focused on living a peaceful, drama-free life” with Nicola, adding: “They’ve built their own world together and are very content in it. They want to let things settle naturally rather than trying to fix something that still feels tense.”
The insider claimed that the relationships between the Beckham clan are still “huge rifts” and that they are “absolutely broken.” Brooklyn’s ability to communicate with Harper Seven, his younger sister, is still unknown. In the most recent update on the Beckham family feud, the source confirmed to US Weekly that “the relationships are all still strained.”

Stacey Solomon has said she doesn’t care what people think of her anymore as she paraded around in a collagen face mask during a trip to Los Angeles with her sister Jemma.
The 36-year-old donned the skin-hydrating skin mask as the pair hiked to the famed Hollywood sign, embarrassing her big sister, who joked she didn’t want to be seen with her.
When Jemma’s protestations were unrepented, mum-of-five Stacey kept it simple and said, “She’s going to be jealous when I look 10 years younger than her tonight.” Everyone in Los Angeles is concerned about their skin. I’m doing my part to fit in, just as I should.
Stacey revealed that as she uncovered more videos of their walk, the mask had essentially vanished shortly after she peeled it off before they posed for photos next to the infamous Hollywood sign.

Stacey then continued to tell her 6.1 million followers, “Not too bad, I’m sorry. It has completely permeated. I can remove it right away. You saw, you only had a few hours to go through it.
I don’t care what anyone thinks because I’m only an adult in my life. I just don’t care what anyone thinks because of this, which makes my skin so lovely. Look at me, my goodness, it was so worthwhile.
“Look at me,” I say. Hollywood has me glowing right now. My hair is blowing. I’m 36. I just want to look after myself, not whether others perceive me as a weirdo or hate me, or whatever.
In a heartfelt post, Stacey shared more photos with Jemma, expressing her feelings for her: “My sister, I feel like a kid again when I’m with you Jem. I’m so moved by it. A lifetime-long friendship and an unbreakable bond exist between sisters.
I’m so happy I got to be here for you this week, thank you for sticking by me through it. to see you slash it! Jem, I adore you to the moon and back. x. “
Her visit to the States comes shortly after it was revealed that Stacey and husband Joe Swash’s BBC reality series, titled Stacey & Joe, would soon be back for another series after proving a hit with fans.
It took viewers behind the scenes at their Essex home, Pickle Cottage, where they live with their three kids, Rex, six, Rose, four, and Belle, two. Joe also has son Harry, 18, from his previous relationship with Emma Sophocleous. While Stacey has sons Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 13, from previous relationships.
A source told The Sun earlier this week: “There’s a definite hunger for these celebrity-based At Home With . . . style shows, with both Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy also getting their versions. But Stacey, with hubby Joe, is blazing a trail.”
The fifth season of Stacey’s other major television series, Sort Your Life Out, just wrapped up. It’s been amazing to see how viewers have taken Stacey, Joe, their kids, and their beloved pets, according to Clare Sillery, BBC documentaries commissioner.

Wessel Nijman defeated fellow Dutchman 6-5 in the opening round of the European Championship, but Michael van Gerwen survived the scare.
In the 11th leg, Nijman failed to score seven match darts before Van Gerwen’s punishment was a 70 in a 21-dart match in Germany.
“From the final leg,” Van Gerwen remarked, “It was a really good match.”
“Wessel was good at first, but he eventually showed some nerves.”
“It was a difficult game, but I prevailed.” It’s going to be difficult when you put yourself in that position, especially when you should have defeated him 6-4.
Van Gerwen, a three-time world champion, made the announcement in May that he and his wife, who he has two children, were divorcing and would miss the Players Championship Finals to focus on his family.
He went 4-2 up on the sixth leg of the match against Nijman, but two 14-dart legs brought him level. He also missed two darts at a double.
As world number three Van Gerwen went 5-4 up, Nijman, who is 36th overall, missed two doubles in the ninth leg.
In the following match, Van Gerwen failed to take three match darts, with Nijman putting up a decider by leveling 5-5 with a score of 5-5.
Van Gerwen, who wanted to win a record-equal fifth European Championship title, took advantage of Nijman’s lack of chances to win.
