In a first practice session at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where nine teams ran rookie drivers, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc set the tone.

Leclerc finished second behind Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli, while McLaren’s Oscar Piastri, who is currently in third place, was McLaren’s championship leader, with Nico Hulkenberg in third place.

The first session was attended by neither of Piastri’s title rivals, Lando Norris’ teammate Lando Norris or Max Verstappen from Red Bull.

With five races left, Piastri leads Norris by 14 points, while Verstappen, who has won three races and finished in second place, is 40 points behind.

In contrast to the 13th-fastest British junior Arvid Lindblad who drove Verstappen’s car, Norris was replaced by Mexican Indycar driver Pato O’Ward.

The session was six seconds and two places ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, a regular Red Bull racer, in terms of speed, and Lindblad, who is scheduled to compete for Racing Bulls next season.

Gabriel Bortoleto of Sauber was fifth fastest, Esteban Ocon of Haas was seventh.

Franco Colapinto of Alpine and Alex Albon of Williams finished in the top 10 after Tsunoda in eighth place.

At Turn 12, which brings the drivers into the Foro Sol baseball stadium, where the majority of the fans are located, both Lindblad and Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar had spins.

And Piastri was unharmed when she broke through the Esses late in the session.

Jeremy Clarkson makes brutal three word dig about James Corden

James Corden has been attacked by Jeremy Clarkson without provocation while promoting the release of his most recent book, which details his ownership of his pub The Farmer’s Dog.

Jeremy Clarkson has launched a veiled attack on former chat show host James Corden while promoting his latest book, The Farmer’s Dog. The former Top Gear host, 65, has been making headlines since becoming a farmer for the first time at Diddly Squat and especially as the world over has been watching his Amazon Prime series.

The presenter has now made the decision to add drama to his fellow host as well as a video to promote the fifth installment of his book series, Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog.

Taking to Instagram, Jeremy read an extract from his book which he filmed and posted to the social media platform.

He told the camera, “Look at this, it’s my new book, The Farmer’s Dog.” I read you an excerpt from the book to give you a taste of what it was like to start a pub after spending about a year on the farm.

When he read the book, he said, “I have to use a regular deer with antlers taped to its head because we can’t find a reindeer.” And he continued, “Exciting stuff, The Farmer’s Dog,” to the camera.

When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between, a book by James Corden and Ruth Jones, was sat next to his book. Without a second thought, he then said, “Better than that.”

The BBC comedy first hit our screens in 2007 and went on to entertain fans for three series. The show then treated fans to two Christmas specials, one in 2019 and their last one in 2024.

More than 20 million people watched their previous television program, which aired in December.

But James is not the only celebrity to face Jeremy’s acid tongue. Podcast host and presenter Piers Morgan recently spoke out about his long running feud with the motoring expert.

Their verbal altercation at the Press Awards in 2004 led to a physical confrontation between the two. Piers was left with a permanent scar on his forehead as a result, while Jeremy was able to mend a finger that had broken.

Jeremy, 65, punched Piers in the head at the Press Awards after the ex Mirror editor published photos of him “in a compromising position with someone who wasn’t the then Mrs Clarkson”, according to Piers.

On the final Concorde flight, Jeremy revealed that he had Piers’ lap tipped a glass of water in his lap a year later. As we walked down the aircraft steps, I said to the journalists, “Look, the idiot has wet himself,” Jeremy said to the press at the time.

While on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, he said: “I was on its last commercial flight they sat me next to the lavatory, or Piers Morgan as you know him. I poured a glass of water over his crotch, so when he got off, it looked like he’d wet himself.”

Piers described how they came to terms with their breakup in an interview with The Times. He claimed, “We had a ten-year feud and it all started like the Wild West.” Terrible neglect

He continued, “Then he texted me.” Morgan . Clarkson is present. Drink? ‘ So we arrived at this pub. The entire neighborhood was like, holy f***, it’s going to start. But we basically agreed that we wouldn’t be our best friends, but we sort of contended not to punch one another.

Prince Andrew and Fergie are trapped in every celeb’s worst nightmare – they’re bonafide D-listers

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36129749.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/1_The-Funeral-Of-The-Duchess-Of-Kent.jpg

Will the newly minted Andy and Sarah from Windsor, who have already spent their first week without royal titles, accept their new D-list status? Jessica Boulton, a columnist for the Daily Mirror, takes a deep dive into a scandalous showbiz week.

There’s been no shortage of surprise announcements, shocking departures and life-changing decisions affecting celebland of late. And this week, it was the now-plain-old Andy and Sarah, from Windsor, who were waking up to their “new normal”.

For, in 2025, no big status change ever feels truly real, until that dreaded moment you’re forced to make it – drum roll please – “Social Media Official”. And for Andy and Sarah, that joy came on Monday.

First, the web team at Buckingham Palace was extremely busy removing all references to Andrew’s now-defunct Duke of York title from official royal websites.

And then, Fergie had to follow suit and change her X handle from the lofty “SarahTheDuchess” to a rather more modest and nondescript “SarahMFergie15”. Ouch.

All this, and at the same time, PM Keir Starmer was also calling for Andrew to appear before MPs to justify the peppercorn fee he pays for The Royal Lodge.

The former couple must now put pressure on themselves to find a new source of income. And I have some very difficult news to break to them because they no longer hold the titles of Duke and Duchess.

BORING OLD D-LISTERS is now officially the most feared thing in showbizland.

Yes, they are too well-known to leave their mark, but they are too unpopular to appear on Family-Friendly Strictly.

That leaves them with three potential revenue streams: staring all day at Celebrity Big Brother (which might fit nicely with their skill set), stifling their attacks on Celebrity Traitors (perhaps a little too close), or attempting to reclaim a royal title from I’m A Celeb.

In any case, it’s fair to say that low rent is no longer just their home.

Too much ? Tuesday

The Spice Girls have apparently implemented their special “rule of four” to push forward with a planned Netflix biopic in time for their 30th anniversary of Wannabe next year. Surprisingly it was Geri Horner who was the holdout on the project – but thanks to a non-legally binding pact the Spices made a few eons ago, the others have been able to push the deal through.

With Robbie Williams, Queen, The Beatles and Elton John all having had biopics in the last few years, you would’ve thought “Look At Me” singer Geri would’ve been gagging to inject a little Girl Power into the pop drama trend.

Why, then, did she lose interest? Some have suggested that this is because of Christian Horner’s scandal last year, which was already affecting her marriage.

But I have a sneaky feeling it was something else. A fear about which famous faces may audition to play her, perhaps?..Although from a sneak peek at these EastEnders’ hopefuls, I’d say Posh is in a far more Dyer situation…

Woah ! Tuesday

Most 12-year-old girls love to play dress-up. But when your dad’s Kanye West and your mum’s Kim Kardashian, I guess you feel the pressure to continually push the envelope.

And this week, North West, age 12, has undoubtedly given her an intriguing direction.

For real, North has chosen that oh-so-appropriate pre-teen look, “Post Malone meets prison inmate,” aka facial tattoos and a not-so-seyful diamond grill, instead of jewels and glam like her mother.

No, it doesn’t appear to be Halloween-themed.

Mind you, you can’t really blame North for losing her way, sartorially.

Not after mommy dearest gave us this shock ensemble last weekend at the LA Academy Museum Gala.

A designer should be content with this appearance for one reason only.

Last dance on Thursday

Talk about a Strictly bombshell! Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman sent social media into a supernova of a meltdown on Thursday, after posting their joint resignation video on Instagram.

At the conclusion of the series, the pair announced that they would permanently say ta ta, or cha cha, to the show. They believed it was time to pass on the “sparkly baton.”

Claudia has been part of the team since 2014, but Tess has racked up a showstopping 21 years – and bizarrely somehow looks not a day older than when she first started alongside the late, great Sir Bruce Forsyth.

Who will replace them, many fans asked the question. The most “forward, side, close”* of picks you could ever get immediately backed the very, very boring and predictable suggestion of Holly Willoughby.

Why not use existing talent from other shows to help the Beeb save money, in my opinion?

The Apprentice’s Lord Sugar could send the losing couple home with a cheeky “You’re tired!”, the Gladiators’ ref could start each performance with a rousing yell of “Dancers ready?”, “Judges ready?”, or maybe the new Match of the Day trio could provide a commentary – they are experts on fancy footwork after all.

Phwoar Friday

Netflix’s most ironically named show is back! Nobody Wants This returned for season two on Thursday and by Friday morning, it was clear: EVERYONE still wanted… Adam Brody, sorry, it (I meant “it”, honest).

The romcom between a hot rabbi and a sex podcaster was a hit last year, especially because the kiss was so scorching hot that it could melt ice cream.

And despite a rather unfair backlash after Kristen Bell made a near-the-knuckle joke on her 12th wedding anniversary this week (Google it because I refuse to give it column inches), the second series has once again soared straight into the Netflix Top 10.

The best thing I learned this week? Kristen Bell presented Adam with a Teen Choice Award for Best Dramatic Actor way back in 2005, when she was in Veronica Mars and he was in The O.C.

It’s fitting because Adam was always my teen choice, along with my twenty-something choice, my thirty-something choice, and, to be honest, my current choice.

One of the fundamentals of the waltz is “Forward, Side, Close.” A Gen Z insult to something that is very predictable and commonplace. In other news, I appear to have accepted the role of the Beeb to educate, inform, and (at least attempt to) entertain.

Tess Daly’s Strictly exit could help ‘inexperienced’ husband Vernon Kay with career move

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article36126896.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/2_Elton-John-Aids-Foundation-Midsummer-Party-Party.jpg

Following her decision to step down as co-host of Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay may be about to embark on a new adventure together.

Tess Daly’s shock announcement that she is stepping down from her Strictly Come Dancing role could pay dividends for her husband, Vernon Kay. It’s thought the radio presenter is desperate to have another crack at conquering the United States.

His previous attempts fell flat, with Vernon admitting he was too “inexperienced” at the time. But his keen to give is another go and it’s thought Tess’ departure from the BBC series could see them head stateside with their family.

Vernon said, “Well, flippantly, I’d like another crack at America because I think I messed up,” in a statement made to Annie MacManus on her podcast Changes last year. For America, I hosted three network shows.

“I wouldn’t say I screwed that up,” I said. Looking back, I can see how untrained I was. I’d like to try a game show again in America because I’m more confident in myself and my work and am aware of this. That has changed a lot.

Vernon discussed his ABC and NBC responsibilities in light of his previous work as a host in the United States. He claimed they lasted a while.

“If you want a laugh, go on YouTube and watch a game show I hosted called the Million Dollar Mind Game. It’s basically me doing an impression of Roger Moore.”

Speaking of what the future might hold for Tess, a PR expert said her career can now be a “blank canvas”. Mark Borkowski told the Mirror: “Tess has the advantage of a blank canvas.

Her choice of exit time seems deliberate, just as Strictly begins to show its age. This is her Madonna reinvention phase: the same warmth and new edge if she plays it right.

She has the credibility and polish to seamlessly transition into glossy network formats or daytime franchises, according to the US rumors.

Tess and her Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman made the decision to leave the show, according to Mark. Tess and Claudia then opened the room.

They skipped the format and left. They left with intact brand integrity, clean brands, and a sense of style. If you’re still dancing on a creaking floor, it might be time to switch up the music, the rest of us should take note.

Tess and Claudia released a joint statement to make their shock announcement earlier in the week. In the video, Claudia began with: “Hi it’s Claud and Tess. There have been some rumblings and we want you to hear this from us…”

Tess then stated, “Yes, we have news.” We’ve decided that it’s time to step aside and carry on the Strictly legacy for 21 wonderful and joyful years. “

“The very sparkly baton,” the author says. Before she turned to Tess, Claudia continued, “You’ve been here since the beginning.” Then Tess responded, “2004 with Brucey – lovely Bruce.” That was over 20 years ago, and you have retained much of it. Hasn’t it been a significant part of our lives? Since our children were sexy babies in the beginning, we have cherished every second, in my opinion.

We have, we’re so fortunate to have been a part of this amazing show, Claudia continued, “We just want to thank the Strictly team because Strictly is the person who makes it so thank you.” They are the best television team we’ve been so fortunate to have,” Tess said. They’ve also had a great time with the audience. They have been with us for the past 21 years, and they have provided us with such a show.

Then Claudia said, “We’re loving this series, and we’re going to have a brilliant…” Before Claudia continued, “Series to come and we can’t wait to get to Blackpool,” Tess said, “It’s the best series, isn’t it.”

Tess continued, “And we can’t wait to do that show dance that we have long-awaited and longed to do.” Claudia has been the program’s co-host for 11 years while Tess has been hosting it for 21 years.
