Kai Trump, granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, will make her LPGA Tour debut next month.

The Annika, which has a prize pool of $3.25 million (£2.45 million), will be played at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida on November 13 through November 16 with the sponsorship of the 18-year-old.

She has a commitment to play golf at the University of Miami in 2026 because she is Donald Trump’s eldest daughter.

Kai Trump stated in a statement that “my dream is to compete with the best players on the LPGA Tour.”

“This experience will be incredible.” As I prepare to make my LPGA Tour debut, I look forward to meeting and playing golf alongside many of my heroes and mentors.

At the Annika, she will compete against some of the biggest names in the sport, including Lilia Vu, England’s Champion, and world number two Nelly Korda, who won her third title last year.

Trump’s “wide following and reach are helping to introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans,” according to the LPGA.

According to Ricki Lasky, chief tour business and operations officer of the LPGA, sponsor invitations are a crucial way to highlight emerging talent and draw new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA.

We’re looking forward to seeing her progress further.

Zamfara Lawmaker Defects From PDP To APC

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have merged under the leadership of Maharashtra Faru, a member of the Maradun II Constituency-based Zamfara State House of Assembly.

The APC’s Zamfara State chapter formally met him at a ceremony in Gusau.

Faru had previously made his defection known in a letter from October 27, 2025, which was sent to the House of Assembly’s Clerk.

He cited poor PDP leadership, particularly at the state level, as the primary cause of his ouster in the letter.

I want to let you know that I have left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), having reviewed recent events in our party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), especially at the national level, and that I have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) because I believe the party’s leadership is lacking there.

Also Read: Sule Lamido and Bode George’s PDP rivals have the right to contest the presidency.

Faru explained that his decision was based on extensive consultation with his electorate, who, in his opinion, voted in favor of joining the APC.

During a lively ceremony held at the party’s Secretariat in Gusau, the lawmaker was formally accepted into the APC along with hundreds of his supporters.

The event, which was presided over by the Honourable Tukur Umar Danfulani, the State APC Chairman, also featured the defection of Alhaji Salisu Dodo Faru, a PDP ex officio member for Maradun Local Government, as well as five PDP ward chairmen from the Faru/Magami, Gidan Goga, Tsibiri, Kaya, and Janbako wards.

In a statement released at the time, Faru claimed that Governor Dauda Lawal’s failure to fulfill campaign promises, particularly regarding insecurity, the main factor that won voters’ support in the 2023 elections, was the catalyst behind his decision to quit the PDP.

He lamented that Maradun II PDP members had experienced injustice and disregard while their constituency had been ignored and denied fair representation.

“Dauda’s administration lacks fairness,” he declared. He claimed that only the government benefits the party’s supporters and favored PDP members.

Faru further claimed that many of the PDP’s governors and prominent members had switched to the APC because it had become plagued by crises at all levels.

“I’ve chosen to join Matawalle and Abdulaziz Yari, along with all of my supporters and party executives in my constituency for these reasons,” he continued.

Alhaji Salisu Dodo Faru, the PDP ex-officio member for Maradun Local Government, stated in his remarks that Maradun II Constituency is now the PDP’s “dead in.”

He accused Governor Dauda Lawal of abandoning devoted party members who worked tirelessly for his election victory and described him as an “accidental politician who lacks direction.”

He applauded Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar and the Defense Minister, Bello Matawalle, for continuing to work at the grassroots.

Dodo claimed that PDP will be a walkover by 2027 as a result of its immature politics.

UN’s Albanese presents blistering report on complicity in Gaza genocide

The UN special rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, has criticized states that were involved in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and demanded a new multilateralism to stop it from occurring again.

On Tuesday, Albanese addressed delegates from the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation’s Cape Town, South Africa, in a remote address, titled “Gaza Genocide: a collective crime” at the UN General Assembly.

She claimed that Israel had “strangled, starved, and shattered” Gaza when it was left. In her report, which examines the involvement of 63 states in Israel’s actions in both Gaza and the West Bank, is referred to as “decades of moral and political failure” in a colonial world order supported by a global system of complicity.

Too many states have damaged, established, and protected Israel’s militarised apartheid, allowing its settler colonial enterprise to splinter into genocide, the most serious crime against the Palestinian indigenous people, she claimed.

She claimed that a genocide had been prevented by diplomatic protection in international “fora meant to preserve peace,” military ties that ranged from weapons sales to joint trainings that “fed the genocidal machinery,” unconstitutional weapons sales, and trade with organizations like the European Union, which sanctioned Russia over Ukraine but continued to conduct business with Israel.

The 24-page report examines how third countries helped facilitate the “live-streamed atrocity,” focusing on how Israel used its veto seven times at the UN Security Council and managed ceasefire negotiations. It claimed that other Western countries had co-sponsored with abstentions, delays, and watered-down draft resolutions, strengthening “a simplistic rhetoric of “balance””.

Despite mounting mounting evidence of genocide, many states continued to supply Israel with weapons, according to the statement. The US Congress’s approval of a $ 26. 4 billion package for Israeli defense, as well as Israel’s threat to invade Rafah, a rumored “red line” for former US President Joe Biden, was exposed in the report.

The report also attributes responsibility to Germany, which exported arms to Israel during the genocide, with supplies ranging from “french to torpedoes” and to the United Kingdom, which allegedly flew more than 600 surveillance missions over Gaza since the war broke out in October 2023.

The report also highlighted the involvement of Arab and Muslim states in regional geopolitics through US-brokered normalization agreements with Israel while acknowledging the “complexity of regional geopolitics.”

It makes note of Egypt’s mediation during the war that it “maintained” significant security and economic ties with Israel, including energy cooperation, and the Rafah crossing’s closure.

Albanese claimed that the UNGA should have confronted the “perilous precedent” of sanctions the US had placed on her earlier this year because of her criticism of Israel’s actions in Palestine, which had prevented her from visiting New York in person.

These actions constitute an attack on the UN’s sovereignty, independence, integrity, and very core. These sanctions, if ignored, will add yet another nail to the coffin of the multilateral system, she claimed.

The report claimed that the genocide in Gaza “betrayed the trust placed in the foundations of global peace and security” by exposing an unprecedented rift between people and their governments.

The special rapporteur called for a new type of multilateralism during his UNGA speech, calling for “a living framework of rights and dignity for the many, not just a facade.”

Rodgers v Desmond: Analysing the Celtic fallout

SNS

The farewell and then the filleting are first.

Monday night brought two statements from Celtic Park, one from the club announcing that Brendan Rodgers had resigned, the other from major shareholder Dermot Desmond excoriating the now ex-manager in the most incendiary fashion.

Every story has two sides, and we are eagerly anticipating Rodgers’ interpretation.

    • 1last 6 hours

“Celtic Football Club can confirm that football manager Brendan Rodgers has today tendered his resignation”.

No one had any idea that Brendan Rodgers would join Celtic next season, but neither did anyone else. He claimed during the week that he “was never more inspired during my time at Celtic.”

In the wake of the 3-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday he said: “I’ve never worked harder in all my time here. Therefore, we have the drive to try to reverse the current levels. It’s still very early, so that’s fine. I think that’s the key point in it all. We just need to concentrate on these performances, the outcomes, and hopefully our standards will continue to rise as the season progresses.

He left just over 24 hours later. It begs the question – the first of many – what changed? Desmond’s own statement is the source of the rest of these quotations.

“Both Michael Nicholson and Eddie Desmond both expressed to Brendan in June that they wanted to extend their terms of service by offering him a contract. He said he would need to think about it and revert. Brendan continued to make the same pitch in subsequent press conferences as evidence that the club had not made a commitment to offer him a contract. That was completely false.

All of this is open to interpretation. Only those present in the room are aware of what was said, but Rodgers’ version can be analyzed more fully. He claimed in August that he and the other three parties had a conversation about where we were and where it sits, and that I am very happy there.

Rodgers pointed out to the media that “when the club feels there’s that time to make an offer then they will do”. Rodgers stated in September that he hadn’t yet received an offer, and that he wouldn’t be so haughty to declare that he wanted to stay here for another three years. I might not want to join the club. I have to respect that. I carry on doing my job until there is something serious on the paper.

“Every player signed and every player sold during his tenure was done so with Brendan’s full knowledge, approval, and endorsement. Any other inference is completely false.

When two players, the striker Shin Yamada and the defender Hayato Inamura, were brought in during the summer, the “insinuation” occurred. Rodgers referred to them as “club signings”.

Rodgers did not say this outwardly, but people insisted that he had not been responsible for those arrivals after his remarks. Of course, the former manager might disagree with the interpretation, but Desmond certainly did so in this context.

The inference that players were being signed without his support caused disquiet behind the scenes and suspicion and rancour among the fans. The board and Rodgers’ distrust was at its breaking point, or it was the continuation of it.

A group of Celtic fans’ organizations called the Celtic Fan Collective met with some important club members last month to discuss whether Rodgers had the final say over all players. Chief executive Michael Nicholson said he had.

Nicholson was asked why Rodgers made reference to “club signings” then. Nicholson shook his shoulders in response. No words, but a further indication that all was far from well.

Later, a statement emerged from Celtic, and after reading it, the color is changed. The article stated that “a lot of what is reported in the media or online about our transfer dealings is inaccurate.”

It went on: “We also understand that this leads to frustration among supporters. In order to improve the clarity for our supporters, we are looking into ways to close the gap between speculation and reality while we are still in the ongoing negotiations.

“His (Rodgers’) later public statements about club operations and transfers completely out of the blue.”

    • last 6 hours

Regrettably, his words and deeds have been conflicting, deceptive, and self-serving since then. They have contributed to a toxic atmosphere around the club and fuelled hostility towards members of the executive team and the Board. Some of the abuse directed at them and their families was completely unjustifiable and unacceptable.

A very serious charge. There’s no doubt that a toxic atmosphere has set in at Celtic but for Desmond not to accept the board’s own role in that is quite something.

Rodgers believes that if he had a role, Rodgers did as well because the club’s poor recruitment and inability to find new stars to replace them.

“One person’s desire for self-preservation at the expense of others is what has recently failed,” according to one person. Not our structure or model.

Desmond claims that there is no acceptance of responsibility for the club’s recent problems.

Celtic’s model has served them extremely well over the years, but most recently it’s faltered badly. At Celtic Park today, there are no mapped out players who perform below the standards. There is a lot of responsibility to bear on that front.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Matt O’Riley, Liel Abada and Nicolas Kuhn were X-factor operators for the club, but they don’t have that kind of quality anymore.

They’ve spent a lot of money, but have they done so wisely? If not, isn’t that an indictment of the Celtic process and execution?

“We all have the same goal: to ensure Celtic’s continued domestic success and European success.”

There’s no doubt that Celtic is full of people who want the best for the club, but Desmond’s line about “further progress in Europe” is highly debatable.

They recently suffered a Champions League exit from Kairat Almaty, and they have repeatedly failed to reach the old group stages, falling to teams with smaller budgets under the leadership of several different managers.

They have won 41% of all European games in the last ten years, while losing 45%.

Celtic is “more powerful than any single person.”

When Rodgers replies it will be interesting to see if he makes anything of this.

Celtic fans will be able to vouch for Desmond’s excessive influence over the club’s management and leadership.

Perhaps the fact that the club is not more important than any one person is indicative of the fact that it wasn’t the club’s chairman, chief executive, or the board as a whole that delivered that thunderclap to Rogers on Monday night. Desmond, the largest shareholder but a non-executive at Celtic, is.

Lead Counsel, Wahab Shittu, Withdraws From Mohbad’s DNA Case

https://www.channelstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Mohbad-1.png

Wahab Shittu, the attorney for Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has withdrawn from the investigation into the late singer’s DNA test, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

According to Shittu, the firm’s founding leader, Shittu, the decision was made in a press release that was made available to the media and signed by him. This was in response to the “sustained falsehood being orchestrated on social media about alleged attempts to compromise the outcome of the DNA process.”

In recent days, this campaign of calumny has become extremely persistent without any support. Removing further involvement and providing legal advice to Mohbad’s family in relation to the alleged DNA proceedings is the path of honor, integrity, and professionalism, the statement read.

Further, the company added that, “We clarify that our firm has no personal interest in the outcome of the DNA process other than the desire for justice to solve the truth,” “For the avoidance of doubt, we state.”

Read more about Mohbad’s father’s request for prosecution of his daughter-in-law and other people indicted in the coroner’s verdict.

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, more commonly known as Mohbad, is shown in a file photo.

The family of Mohbad has already been informed of the decision, according to the law firm.

The family was also informed in the decision that the DNA process must be conducted transparently, using renowned DNA laboratories both domestically and abroad, to prevent the process from being compromised, according to the statement.

The statement stated that “this withdrawal relates only to the DNA proceedings and does not affect our involvement in or our handling of other family matters.”

Reading appoint Richardson as new manager

Following Noel Hunt’s departure over the weekend, Reading appointed Leam Richardson as their new manager.

The 45-year-old has a one-year, half-year contract with Select Car Leasing Stadium through 2027.

Richardson previously led Wigan Athletic between 2020 and 2022, when they won the League One title. Prior to that, Richardson most recently served Rotherham United.

Reading terminated Hunt’s contract on Sunday following a subpar season that had put the Royals 19th in the League One standings.

Owner of the Royals, Rob Couhig, stated, “I have admired Leam for a while.”

He is a coach and leader who embodies the qualities we seek in Reading: “he is a leader who has a relentless focus on improving players.”

He was humble, determined, and he built strong, honest cultures, which I know the Royals’ fans value and respect. He was promoted from League One in extremely difficult circumstances.

“Leam is familiar with this division, he is aware of how to create a winning dressing room, and he is aware of the requirements there.” He is determined to advance this football team with his energy, ambition, and determination. He will be greatly welcomed to Reading, in our hearts.

Danny Schofield and James Beattie, both of whom played for Southampton, will also be joining Richardson.

Following a subpar start to the Championship season, Richardson was fired from Wigan in 2022. The Millers did the same after their promotion to the Championship in April 2024.

Prior to joining the two clubs, the former defender transitioned from a player to a coach at Portsmouth, Chesterfield, and Accrington Stanley as assistant manager of Paul Cook.

Expectations should be modest, according to analysis.

Tim Dellor, a reading commentator for BBC Radio Berkshire,

The best thing Richardson did was extinguish Wigan from League One and return to the Championship in 2022.

Reading fans hope he can emulate Noel Hunt’s success in the next 18 months, but he will need a little more luck and time to do it.

His first game in charge will be against Carlisle on Saturday in the FA Cup first round, followed by Wigan and Rotherham, both of his former clubs, in Stevenage.

Prior to this, Reading chose the Spaniard, Serbian, and Portuguese smooth-talking, culturally adept options, an ex-international superstar player, a legendary Reading player, and the club’s director of football.

Richardson is not one of the things above, which would be a good place to start. Over the past few years, they have tried all kinds of managers.

To bring the current squad to the championship this year, he will need to work miracles.
