Victoria Beckham has given fans an insight into her birthday celebrations this week. She shared photos from the occasion, which included a meal with family and friends, but two of her children were notably absent.

Victoria, now 51, celebrated her birthday yesterday. She was met with well wishes on social media, including from her husband David Beckham, 50. It has been reported that her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, 30, did not publicly mark the occasion though.

The former Spice Girls member has since suggested that Brooklyn and his brother Cruz Beckham, 20, weren’t part of her birthday celebrations this week – with them not appearing in photos from the occasion. It’s unclear why they were absent. She’s revealed that she was joined by David and their other kids Romeo Beckham, 22, and Harper Beckham, 13, as well as some pals, though.

Victoria gave an insight into her recent celebrations, which appear to have taken place in Miami, Florida, in a post on Instagram this afternoon. It included photos of her soaking up the sun onboard a yacht with David, Romeo and Harper.

Romeo and Harper were seen sitting between their parents on the boat in one photo. During the trip, Victoria also posed with a birthday cake in front of her.

She also enjoyed a “beautiful dinner” with pals, hosted by her “best friend” Isabela Rangel Grutman and her husband David Grutman. The post included some photos from the evening, which featured guests like model Cindy Crawford.

Victoria, David, Romeo, and Harper were all dressed up in a photo taken at the time. While one photo showed Victoria posing in a hallway behind Isabela. In the same location, the close friends’ husbands joined their respective partners for a group photo of the two couples.

Victoria also stated on the platform before: “Thank you for making my birthday so special. I adore you all so much, my family and my friends. At the end of the post’s caption, she tagged her husband David.

Victoria later claimed that David had made her birthday “so special” on Instagram. She wrote, “I love you]David],]Romeo] #HarperBeckham” beside one of the photos of the parents holding their children, Romeo and Harper.

This week earlier, former football player David paid her homage. He declared, “Happy Birthday to the most wonderful wife, mummy, and best friend that we could all wish for.” We love you so much that you deserve the most perfect day. He also mentioned daughter Harper in a hashtag and mentioned their three sons in the caption.

Cruz is said to have written about Victoria’s birthday on his account, whereas Romeo also paid tribute in a post. Cruz, who appeared to be missing from her celebrations, also posted a post that his partner Jackie Apostel made fun of their upcoming engagements.

Jackie wrote, “Happy birthday]Victoria,” next to a picture of Victoria and her son yesterday. How wonderful to see you raising your kids alongside them on a daily basis. We look forward to sharing our celebration with you.

Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola reportedly didn’t publicly celebrate his mother’s birthday yesterday. It comes amid reports that there’s tension within the family, with the couple also absent from a party for David’s early 50th birthday, which took place just a few weeks ago.

It has been suggested that Brooklyn and Nicola were celebrating his third wedding anniversary at Coachella Indio, California, this week amid Victoria’s birthday celebrations. The couple have both posted about attending the festival. It comes following previous reports that his parents didn’t publicly mark their anniversary after he posted about it last week.

The apparent social media snubs, and Brooklyn’s absence from the birthday celebrations, come amid reports that he and brother Romeo are not on speaking terms. There’s said to be tension over Romeo’s relationship with Kim Turnbull.

It’s been suggested that Brooklyn was once romantically linked to Kim some years ago. As previously reported, earlier this month, TMZ claimed that it was “all water under the bridge” though, with the outlet adding that sources had said the issue was over Brooklyn and his wife Nicola questioning whether Kim has “the right intentions” in dating Romeo.

As reported by Hello magazine last week, younger brother Cruz is said to have dismissed the suggestion that Brooklyn dated Kim previously. In a comment in response to someone on social media that appears to have since been deleted, Cruz reportedly wrote: “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.”

The presenter has previously revealed he finds “huge comfort” in nature during times of sorrow. In a recent BBC Radio 4 interview, he discussed the therapeutic power of gardening.

The rhythm of the seasons is a great comforter, he explained, and this has frequently been said by those who are grieving.

You can count on spring to arrive in the bleakest midwinter, and blossom to bloom. You have faith in a seed you sow, and it will bloom. Everything is complicated, and nothing is linear, as some people claim. But there is a rhythmic nature within it all.

We need that more than ever. Everyone needs it, and they have done it always.

Monty announced on his social media account on Monday that he had performed at his final stop on his grand tour. He had been hosting An Audience with Monty Don shows that ran over the weekend, which started on November 1.

Due to illness, the star had to cancel his Cornwall shows back in November. When he fell ill and was rushed to A&amp, E, the broadcaster was scheduled to speak in Exeter, Truro, Bath, and Nottingham.

Monty explained his absence to his 1.3 million followers on Instagram on November 26. He and his beloved dog Ned can be seen together at home in the video.

He remarked to the audience, “Hello. I regret so much for the many people who planned to see me in Exeter, Truro, Bath, and Nottingham.

However, I was taken to A and E on Friday afternoon, and I was then kept there over Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, where I received drips and other treatments.

He continued, “But I came home last night and feel much better.” I’ll be spending the next few days relaxing at home, and hopefully by weekend I’ll be back in top shape.

First day of the Rothesay County Championship Division Two, Spitfire Ground, Canterbury

Gloucestershire 365-7: Bracey 109*, Green 100* (retired hurt)

Kent: To bat yet?

Gloucestershire 3 points, Kent 2 points,

On their first day of their County Championship game against Kent at Canterbury, Gloucestershire won by Cameron Green, who scored a century on his debut.

James Bracey, a fellow centurion, made 109 not out and put on 167, with the Australian international, who had to retire early because of suspected cramp.

Grant Stewart was hurt and a lackluster field presence in the hosts prevented Kent from winning it with 5-61, but Nathan Gilchrist kept Kent in it.

After winning the toss, Kent continued to use the formula that enabled them to win their two opening games by choosing to bowl, but they were unable to capitalize on a promising start, sinking Gloucestershire to 15-2.

Ollie Price was on one when he edged Grant Stewart, but Gilchrist only managed to get Cameron Bancroft for two when he tried to play across his pads. Harry Finch, the keeper, anticipated that the catch would carry to first slip, but it did not.

Ben Charlesworth went in the following over, and Gilchrist was the recipient, but Kent’s already detested bowling unit suffered yet another blow when Stewart fell injured midway through the 14th over and was forced to take Jas Singh’s place.

In his next over, Singh had Ollie Price lbw for 18, but Green and Hammond resurrected the innings, which ended 96-3 at lunch.

Hammond appeared ready for his half-century, but Singh ripped out his off stump for 48, ending what the hosts thought would be a disappointing afternoon session. Green never appeared troubled, and he managed to outstrip Jack Leaning in the singles to reach his 50.

The visitors continued to dominate after 225-4 at tea, but they were given another life when Bracey reached 67. Leaning was given a lead, but Daniel Bell-Drummond gave up a regulation chance.

By the late 1990s, Green appeared to be having cramp and was clearly having trouble accepting singles. Joey Evison made it to the bowlers end when he drove him for one before falling to the ground and retiring.

The only bowler in the evening session, Gilchrist, actually looked like taking a wicket, and he dragged Kent back into it.

He received Tom Price’s leg before for eight with a full toss that struck him on the shin and Graeme van Buuren lbw for 19 with the new ball.

Matt Taylor made eight with a quick-hitched delivery to Finch, but Josh Shaw made it to stumps with 18 not out, and Gloucestershire could still bat well into day two with Green back if necessary.

Russia jails 19-year old for condemning its war in Ukraine

Daria Kozyreva, a young activist who used 19th-century poetry and graffiti to protest the Ukrainian war, received a nearly three-year prison sentence from a Russian court.

Kozyreva, 19, was found guilty of repeatedly “discrediting” the Russian army after she repeatedly displayed lines of Ukrainian verse on a public square and gave an interview to Sever, according to a witness from the court on Friday. Russian-language programming from Radio Free Europe’s Realii.

She received an eight-month prison sentence totaling two years and eight.

According to a trial transcript that Mediazona, an independent news outlet, Kozyreva entered a not-guilty plea on Friday, calling the case against her “one big fabrication.”

I don’t feel guilty. According to Mediazona’s transcript, she said, “My conscience is clear.”

“The truth is never guilty,” he says.

Kozyreva sprayed the phrase “Murderers, you bombed it” in December 2022 at the age of 17. Judases, a sculpture of two intertwined hearts depicting the city’s connections to Mariupol, a Ukrainian city that was largely destroyed during a siege earlier that year, was erected outside Saint Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum in black paint on a sculpture of the city.

Kozyreva was kicked out of Saint Petersburg State University’s medical school in early 2024 after being fined 30,000 roubles ($370) for online content about Ukraine.

She then taped a piece of paper containing a passage from Taras Shevchenko, the father of contemporary Ukrainian literature, to a statue of him in a Saint Petersburg park on the occasion of the second anniversary of the conflict:

“Oh bury me, rise up, and break your heavy chains with the blood of the tyrants,” you ask.

Before being released this February, Kozyreva was immediately detained and placed in pre-trial detention for almost a year.

Punished for quoting poetry

The verdict, according to Amnesty International’s director for Russia, “is yet another chilling reminder of how far the Russian authorities will go to silence peaceful opposition to their war in Ukraine.”

In a statement, she said, “Daria Kozyreva is being punished for quoting a classic of 19th-century Ukrainian poetry, for speaking out against an unjust war, and for refusing to remain silent.”

“We demand the immediate and unrestricted release of Daria Kozyreva and all others who are incarcerated under “war censorship laws.”

According to a report from Memorial, a Russian human rights organization that won the Nobel Prize, Kozyreva is one of an estimated 234 people currently imprisoned in Russia for their antiwar positions.

Since Russia began its massive invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, it has also started to happen more frequently.

Evan Gershkovich, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, was detained last year on suspicion of attempting to obtain military secrets. He is currently awaiting trial in custody. He was “wrongfully detained” by the United States, and they want his release.

Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy made heartbreaking Amazon order hours before her death

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article35081972.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_MAIN-GENE-HACKMAN.jpg

Gene Hackman’s later wife, actress Betsy Arawaka, had just ordered a product on Amazon that appeared to show one of the duo could be in trouble.

Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa

The last purchase of Betsy Arakawa has been revealed two months on from her death. Betsy, 65, and her Hollywood husband Gene Hackman, 95, were found dead in the New Mexico home in February, with the deaths initially a mystery.

However, with new information continuing to come out since the tragic discovery, it was found Betsy died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare, rodent-borne disease. She died a week before her husband, whose death was confirmed as being from “hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s disease as a significant contributory factor”.

Whether Gene was aware of Betsy’s death as a result of his condition. Now that Betsy’s final Amazon purchase is known, it is believed to have occurred just before her passing.

Google searches showed the pianist had ordered oxygen canisters from Amazon on February 11, just a day before she is ruled to have died.

The items appear to indicate that either she or her husband have been having breathing difficulties. Some businesses claim that using an oxygen canister regularly reduces fatigue and promotes a holistic detox.

Other searches revealed Betsy had been looking for information on health issues. Open bookmarks on her computer on both February 8 and the morning of February 12 showed her history. The information showed Betsy was actively researching medical conditions related to COVID-19 and flu-like symptoms.

According to her Google searches, Covid may cause nausea or nosebleeds. In a specific search, Betsy discovered questions like “Can Covid cause dizziness” and “Flu and nosebleeds”

One of the most important characteristics of hantavirus is the intense headaches. They are said to have developed in about half of all patients. However, it is not believed that nosebleeds are as frequent.

A health assessment carried out by the New Mexico Department of Public Health a week after the bodies were discovered found dead rodents and their nests in ‘eight detached outbuildings’ on the Hackman property. It’s said this made their $4million property a ‘breeding ground’ for the deadly hantavirus, according to TMZ.

Along with her search and order, it has been discovered that the couple’s bathroom cabinet contained a lot of medication as well as her final emails, which detailed her bleak symptoms.

In one email, Betsy communicated with her masseuse about a day before she passed away. Due to her symptoms, she requested a delay in her massage. She still regarded them as having been brought on by coronavirus at the time.

She had, however, stated that her test result was negative. Betsy informed the masseuse that Gene had the flu or symptoms of the cold but that he also had a negative test results.

She stated that she was canceling the appointment “out of an abundance of caution” despite the negative test results.

Bryce heroics not enough to save Scotland’s World Cup hopes

Images courtesy of Getty

Lahore, the qualifier for the ICC Women’s World Cup, is

Scotland 268-7 (50 overs): K Bryce 131*, Fraser 33, Canning 3-48

Ireland 269-9 (50 overs): Lewis 61, Delany 57*, K Bryce 3-49.

By one wicket, Ireland prevailed.

With the final ball of the series, Ireland won by one wicket in Lahore, but Scotland’s World Cup hopes were still stifled by Kathryn Bryce’s stunning unbeaten century and three wickets.

To have a chance to finish second in the qualifier tournament, the Scots needed to win by a significant margin, as did Ireland, who were already eliminated.

And despite a 19-3 first-class start, Bryce’s personal best knock of 131 helped Scotland to reach 268 with their highest everODI total, looking strong for victory.

However, Ireland roared back to set up a tense final over, in which Bryce received four hits and took her third wicket, before consecutive leg byes in the final two balls gave them the two runs they needed for victory.

In the 20th over of Scotland’s impressive innings, Ailsa Lister and Bryce made a partnership of 62 and fell for 27 from 28 balls.

Megan McCall (15), Katherine Fraser (33), and Priyanaz Chatterji (26), all provided additional support for the skipper.

And as Bryce completed her incredible innings with her 14th four from the final delivery, along with her two sixes, Rachel Slater made her debut at the crease for the final five overs, finishing with 13 from 11 balls.

With the bat, Ireland’s captain, Gaby Lewis, and fellow opener Sarah Forbes, both put on 109 for the first wicket, but Laura Delany’s crucial unbeaten 57 helped them get past the line.

After falling to Leah Paul (11), Louise Little (one), and Sophie McMahon (three), Delany stayed in and put together a crucial eighth-wicket stand with Jane Maguire, who both scored 50 from 36 balls.

It appeared as though the momentum had swung Scotland’s way again when Maguire was bowled off by Slater just before the 49th over when she was hit for four by Bryce.

However, Cara Murray and Delany made the most of their leg byes to break Scotland’s hearts and put an end to their hopes of participating in the Indian team’s autumn World Cup in the fall.

They come close to winning their campaign after Pakistan and Bangladesh, which are behind them in the top two.
