Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, stated on Saturday that a player who won the Champions League should receive the individual honor.

The veteran veteran said “trophies” should determine who wins the Ballon d’Or, as he stated ahead of Sunday’s Nations League final between Portugal and Spain in Munich.

Whoever wins it should, in my opinion, belong to a team that has won awards. The 40-year-old forward told reporters that the Ballon d’Or winner should play for a team that has won the Champions League.

The Ballon d’Or is presented to the player who is regarded as the best player from the previous season after being first presented by French magazine France Football in 1956.

The Champions League final victory over Inter Milan by Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday night, which ended in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 win, sparked growing interest in Ousmane Dembele’s chances of winning the title this season.

Lamine Yamal, a star of Spain, made headlines with her superb performance in Thursday’s 5-4 Nations League semi-final win over France, who some thought should have won the award. This would make the 17-year-old the youngest winner in its history.

Dembele’s coach, Didier Deschamps, praised him for the award, saying, “Considering the season Ousmane is having, he deserves it, and that’s all I wish for him.”

France’s captain Kylian Mbappe stated to reporters that he backed Dembele at a press conference on Saturday in Stuttgart.

Does anyone really require an explanation from me? I’m voting for Dembele even though we’re currently discussing Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele.

Ronaldo claimed this season that he “cannot tell you who deserves it.”

Only Lionel Messi, an Argentinian, has won the award eight times, while Ronaldo’s five victories are better.

From Ronaldo’s first victory in 2008 to his most recent victory in 2017, the duo had a monopoly on the award for ten years.

Spain’s and Manchester City’s Rodri are currently the holders.

Prince Harry and Meghan may no longer be able to live in the palace, but they are still holding the gates open for their children. Archie and Lilibet are reportedly happy for them to continue holding their titles, provoking debate over whether it’s about choice or mixed messages.

Despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping away from their royal duties and all the palace drama a while ago, it seems they’re keeping the door open for their kids to walk a different path.

They reportedly want Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to hang onto their royal titles – just in case they decide they do want to be working royals one day. Apparently, Harry and Meghan see it as giving their kids the option when they’re older. But here’s where it gets a bit sticky, as the ‘plan’ comes after the source claimed the Sussexes feared passports for their children were being held up due to the use of their royal titles.

It has all raised a few eyebrows., with former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond asking why the Sussexes are holding so tightly to the titles when they’ve been so outspoken about wanting out of the royal system in the first place.

Rain pushes Isle of Man TT Senior race to evening

TT IOM

Due to the course’s heavy rain, racing on the final day of the Isle of Man TT was delayed by more than seven hours.

Due to the delays, Saturday’s Blue Riband Senior event has been reduced from its six-lap Mountain Course schedule to four, which will begin at 19:00 BST.

Gary Thompson, the course clerk, explained the protracted delay and the race’s lengthy delay, noting that the race would not be moved to Sunday’s emergency session due to the shorter road closure times and bad weather forecast.

Holly Willoughby’s plan unveiled as she’s left without a show for first time in 21 years

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article35353505.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/0_Celebrity-Bear-Hunt-Special-Screening-Arrivals.jpg

Holly Willoughby has been a household name on ITV for the past few decades, but it seems like she won’t be back on our screens anytime soon.

Due to Holly Willoughby being unable to appear in an upcoming TV show, her future career plans have reportedly been revealed. The actress has long been a household name on television, but it seems like she hasn’t got any upcoming projects to look forward to.

The 44-year-old is now at a point in her career where she hasn’t got a programme lined-up for the first time in 21 years. This comes as her usual presenting gig on Dancing On Ice has come to an end as the show has been axed.

Due to the cancellation of that job, Holly’s previous one, Bear Hunt with Bear Grylls, will no longer be able to do so. She also made a decision to leave You Bet! which means that Stephen Mulhern will be the show’s sole host.

According to reports, Holly’s husband, Dan Baldwin, is working on a remake of Record Breakers, giving her a chance to get a presenting job. According to a source, Holly’s inclusion would make “perfect sense.”

They stated that Holly’s takeover of Record Breakers would make perfect sense because it is likely to be a hit in the future. She has previously worked with Dan, and they are both knowledgeable about what makes a great television.

Holly has also been in amongst a few names that could be hosting the reboot of Cilla Black’s Blind Date. Other celebs that could be up include Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall.

Another show Holly is being looked at for is a new Channel 4 programme where new undiscovered singers are found. Holly first returned back to TV last year after taking an 18 month break.

It has also been reported that ITV are keen to keep Holly as she recently met with Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment and daytime about future opportunities.

Holly always intended to lock in new presenting roles for ITV, which has been her main focus for a while, according to an insider. Due to the cards falling, she didn’t have anything confirmed until earlier this year, which is unfortunate because Holly has a number of exciting projects in hand for her in 2025.

Holly says, “Holly is looking forward, and this week’s meeting was one of the best examples.” There will be new entertainment formats instead of daytime programming. A documentary about Holly’s kidnapping was broadcast during the meeting.

Holly declined to participate in Channel 5’s documentary, The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby, which told the story of the plot by obsessed security guard Gavin Plumb to kidnap, rape and murder her.

The traumatic experience is what led her to step down from her role on ITV1’s This Morning and take a break from television altogether.

Wales have new mindset under Bellamy

Belgium vs. Wales World Cup qualifier

Brussels’ King Baudouin Stadium Kickoff time: Monday, June 9:45 BST

According to a player who watched him play a part in the national team, Wales have a new mindset under his leadership.

Bellamy assisted manager Vincent Kompany in winning the championship, and Connor Roberts was a member of the Burnley team that won the championship.

The Wales side’s unbeaten start to Bellamy’s first senior role as manager and its renewed desire to reach the 2026 World Cup are now at the full-back.

Bellamy’s team defeated Liechtenstein 3-0 on Friday in Cardiff, beating qualification favorites Belgium.

The 45-year-old has already stated that Wales will play the top seeds, while midfielder David Brooks claims that the team will travel to Brussels to win.

When asked whether it suggested a shift in the team’s mindset from previous Wales matches, 62-cap Roberts replied, “Yes is the straightforward answer.

We will play side-to-side with any team, and the manager has arrived, which is obvious because I know him from his time at Burnley.

With the goals from Joe Rodon, Kieffer Moore, and Harry Wilson, Wales escaped a difficult situation. Roberts remarked, “We have to keep being ourselves and not change. We have to keep the good habits that we’ve been learning and integrating over the past nine months, and do what we need to do to win the game.

Players are clearly hearing Bellamy’s message as they prepare for a crucial game in the campaign, which she has previously stated in public about not wanting to be seen as underdogs.

After two victories and a draw in their first three games, Wales leads Group J.

And the news that Belgium conceded a draw in North Macedonia in their opening game made their comfortable night in Cardiff against Liechtenstein even more enjoyable.

Rudi Garcia, manager of Belgium, stated to reporters that “his side must win against Wales.”

Brooks, however, claims that Wales haven’t changed their minds as a result of the defeat in Skopje.

We adored ourselves right away, Brooks said. We were going to try and win regardless, not as though we thought Belgium had to slack off for us to have a chance.
