Peter Andre has opened up in his exclusive weekly column about the rumours that eldest daughter Princess, who is set to turn 18 soon, could be signing up to Love Island as he admits that he doesn’t know where the rumours came from, and says at 17 she can’t legally apply yet anyway.

He says: “There’s been a lot of talk about Princess going on Love Island, and I don’t know where it came from. She’s not 18 yet, so it’s not even an option.”

He adds that, though he would support her if she wanted to sign up to the ITV2 show, it’s not something he’d ever choose for her.

“Whether she chooses to do it in the future is up to her, but of course it’s every dad’s nightmare. Then again, I look at people like Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, and others, and see how happy they were in their relationships that came from the show. It’s about what makes Princess happy at the end of the day. I wouldn’t stop her, but if she asks my opinion, I’ll be honest.”

In a recent episode of her podcast, Katie Price revealed that she has tried to encourage her daughter Princess Andre to sign up for competition show Love Island. However, the model and entrepreneur has tellingly responded that she doesn’t want to be known as a ‘Love Islander’.

Speaking with her sister Sophie Price on the Katie Price Show podcast, the 47-year-old shared that she has discussed the idea with her daughter, with Katie saying that she has encouraged Princess to take part in the ITV2 dating show.

Katie said: “Love Island starts soon. I keep saying to Princess ‘Why don’t you do Love Island?'” However, it seems that Princess doesn’t fully agree with the former glamour model’s idea. Talking to her sister, Katie shared that her daughter doesn’t want to be known as a contestant from Love Island.

After sharing that she mentioned the idea of taking part in a TV dating show to Princess, Princess was said to reply: “No… because otherwise I’ll be known as a Love Islander.”

“I’d love to be a TV presenter. I’d love to host something like Love Island. I wouldn’t want to take part in the show as a contestant, but I’d love to be as good a host as Maya Jama.”

The 16 year old told OK! in an exclusive shoot last year with Junior that she’d love to go into I’m A Celeb… – but only with Junior by her side: “We’d have to do it together but that would be fun. I’d be terrified, but that would be so iconic.”

Delap a ‘future England number nine’ – Maresca

Getty Images

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says he has no doubt new striker Liam Delap will become a “future England number nine” as he prepares to make his Blues debut at the Club World Cup.

The 22-year-old forward joined in a £30m deal from Ipswich earlier in June to reunite with his former Manchester City academy manager.

Delap, who signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, scored 12 goals in 37 Premier League appearances last term.

Chelsea face Los Angeles FC in their Club World Cup opener on Monday (20:00 BST) in Atlanta.

When asked about Delap, who pulled out of England duty for the European Under-21 Championship to join Chelsea in the United States, Maresca said: “I said Liam can be England’s number nine when we faced Ipswich.

“Now he is a Chelsea player, I’m going to say again, I don’t have any doubt that he can be in the future England number nine.

“We won with Manchester City’s Under-23s – he scored 24, 25 goals that season – so he knows exactly what we can give him, I know what Liam can give us. It’s a win-win. We like Liam, Liam likes us, so it was an easy conversation.”

Delap is among four new players in Chelsea’s squad, along with returning loanee Andrey Santos and new teenage signings Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Mike Penders.

But Maresca explained Delap will have to compete with fellow striker Nicolas Jackson to earn a starting place and refused to say whether he will start at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

He also explained, without directly being asked about it, that the club needs a new left winger after Chelsea paid a £5m penalty fee not to sign Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho, adding: “Jadon is not with us. So for sure that is a position that probably we need to do something.

“Also because, Misha [Mudryk] is not with us. At this moment we have Noni [Madueke], Pedro [Neto] and Ty [George] as proper wingers. So for sure something is going to happen.”

The Blues are expected to rekindle their interest in Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens as the transfer window re-opens on Monday, having had a £42m bid rejected for the 20-year-old just before the Club World Cup.

They also made an approach for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, but Maresca insists he still has faith in the likes of Robert Sanchez. He explained: “Robert is the number one, we have Filip as number two.

The only thing some people found disappointing was its scent. One four star reviewer wrote on the KIKO Milano website: “Looks nice on the skin even without makeup and leaves a shimmer. Unfortunately an unpleasant smell for me personally.”

Costing £22 on its own (£13 less than the entire box), it’s the most expensive item in the haul. For those who want to test out some new products from the brand without quite such a hit to the old bank account, it’s an ingenius way to save money whilst also indulging in a few treats.

Golf: JJ Spaun wins rainy US Open for first major title

JJ Spaun has won the US Open golf championship by two shots from Robert MacIntyre after draining an incredible 64-foot birdie putt that snaked across a sodden 18th green following a chaotic final round at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, United States.

“Just to finish it off like that is just a dream,” the Californian said after claiming his first major on Sunday.

“To have my own moment like that at this championship, I’ll never forget this moment for the rest of my life.”

Spaun needed only a par at the closing hole to avoid a Monday playoff but went one better, sinking the huge putt in the rain to win the year’s third major and erase the disappointment from his close call at The Players Championship in March.

When the clinching putt dropped, Spaun tossed his putter, delivered a fist pump, hugged his caddie and then walked off the green with his two young daughters in tow on Father’s Day to celebrate a career-defining win.

“It was so cool to just have my whole family there on Father’s Day,” Spaun said. “It’s just incredible. I have no words to describe the moment and them being able to see me as the winner.”

Spaun reached the drivable par-four 17th hole level with Scotland’s MacIntyre, who was already in the clubhouse after a two-under 68, and delivered the shot of his life – a 309-yard strike that settled 17 feet from the cup.

The 34-year-old American sent his eagle putt past the hole but made the comebacker,  and then went on to secure the win in style at the 18th, where he said he did not look at the scoreboard so as not to alter his plan.

“I knew based off of, like, what the crowd was saying that I felt like if I two-putted I would probably win, but I didn’t want to look,” said Spaun. “I didn’t want to do anything dumb trying to protect a three-putt or something.”

The final round was interrupted by a 96-minute weather delay after heavy rains forced puddles of water to form on the greens and fairways and forced the grounds crew at Oakmont to use squeegees to get the course ready.

Rory McIlroy needs ‘right frame of mind’

The triumph comes three months after Spaun lost in a playoff to world number two Rory McIlroy at The Players Championship, a defeat which was hard to take but left him knowing he could mix it with the game’s elite.

Viktor Hovland (73) finished three shots back in third place, while Cameron Young (70) and LIV Golf players Tyrrell Hatton (72) and Carlos Ortiz (73) finished a further shot back in a share of fourth place.

Sam Burns (78), who took a one-shot lead over Spaun and Adam Scott into the final round, struggled late in his round and finished five shots back.

Twice major champion Jon Rahm, who began the day 11 shots back, closed with a three-under 67 that was the day’s joint low round, with the Spaniard finishing five shots back in a share of seventh with world number one Scottie Scheffler (70) and Burns.

World number two Rory McIlroy also saved his best for last and carded a 67 to reach seven over.

McIlroy, who had been struggling to find form since completing the career Grand Slam at the Masters, is looking forward to some downtime before the British Open being held next month at Royal Portrush in his home country of Northern Ireland.

“I just need to get myself in the right frame of mind. I probably haven’t been there the last few weeks,” McIlroy said.

“But as I said, getting home and having a couple of weeks off before that, hopefully feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, will get me in the right place again.”

Summer transfer window reopens – who could be on the move?

Getty Images

The summer transfer window has reopened for business – just days after closing.

Premier League, EFL and Scottish Premiership clubs will be able to buy and sell until 19:00 BST on Monday, 1 September.

There was a total outlay by Premier League clubs of more than £1.96bn last summer.

Will that be topped over the next 11 weeks?

The first transfer window of this summer between 1-10 June saw £400m spent by Premier League clubs.

Manchester City reacted to their disappointing season by spending a total of £116.2m on Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli.

Meanwhile, neighbours Manchester United paid £62.5m on Wolves’ Brazil forward Matheus Cunha.

Why was window closed for only six days?

There are two transfer windows this summer.

The early window allowed teams participating at the Club World Cup, which got under way in the United States at 01:00 BST on Sunday, the chance to sign players.

All clubs – not just those at the revamped Fifa tournament – were given a 10-day window to sign players.

Fifa rules state a transfer window cannot last more than 16 weeks in a calendar year, hence the split this summer.

Other big signings made by Premier League clubs in early June included striker Liam Delap moving from Ipswich Town to Chelsea for £30m, Brighton signing 18-year-old forward Charalampos Kostoulas for £29.78m from Greek side Olympiakos, and champions Liverpool buying Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for £29.5m.

Several players moved abroad during the early window.

They included Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen joining Real Madrid for £50m, where his team-mates will include Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Liverpool full-back also completed a move to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid agreed to pay Liverpool a fee, reported to be 10m euros (£8.4m), to allow Alexander-Arnold to complete his move before the end of his contract at the end of June, so he can play in the Club World Cup.

What to look out for

Having won the Premier League in his first season in charge, it would appear Arne Slot is keen to get his main business wrapped up early as Liverpool get ready to defend their title.

After signing Frimpong, the Reds have agreed a £116m deal to bring his Leverkusen team-mate and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, 22, to Anfield.

The statement signing will be a club record fee for Liverpool and he is likely to be joined at Anfield by Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in the coming days.

Fresh from appointing Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Tottenham are interested in signing Bees striker Bryan Mbeumo. Earlier in June, Mbeumo was the subject of a bid from Manchester United of £45m and £10m in add-ons.

United and Arsenal have both been linked with Sporting’s Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres, who has enjoyed a remarkable couple of seasons in Portugal.

The former Coventry City player, who left Brighton without playing a Premier League game, has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting.

Arsenal, who have also agreed a £51m deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, have been linked with RB Leipzig’s Slovenia forward Benjamin Sesko.

“Gyokeres has played in England before, but not for a team that’s trying to win a Premier League title,” former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha told BBC Sport.

“So, I’m not 100% sold on thinking he would be a guarantee or that he is closer to being a finished article than Sesko right now. If the manager has a liking for Sesko, I’d back him 100% and give him what he wants if the club can afford it.”

There has also been lots of talk about Alexander Isak’s future, but does the Sweden goalscorer really want to leave the Magpies now after helping them secure a place in next season’s Champions League? It appears unlikely.

Will Crystal Palace keep their best players after winning the FA Cup?

BBC Sport’s senior football correspondent Sami Mokbel said Tottenham are interested in Marc Guehi, although the Palace captain and England defender has options elsewhere.

Eberechi Eze is another who has attracted plenty of interest.

‘Don’t expect quick exits at Man Utd’

Simon Stone, chief football news reporter, on what could happen at Old Trafford

The most obvious departures are the players who finished last season out on loan and are deemed surplus to requirements.

Yet is it conceivable further deals for Marcus Rashford, Antony or Jadon Sancho could be done early? Probably not.

Indeed, the wages at United are so high, and the performances have been so far below expectations, it is not clear to see what deals might be done quickly.

Alejandro Garnacho has been told he can leave, which suggests he will not return for pre-season training early in July.

There is interest in the young Argentina international. The same is also true of England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, although United are more minded to keep him.

Grealish and Walker expected to leave City

Shamoon Hafez, BBC Sport football news reporter, on the two England internationals expected to leave Manchester City

Jack Grealish is expected to leave Manchester City after being left out of their Club World Cup squad and is thought to be available for a reported £50m.

But his £300,000-a-week wages could be off-putting to any suitors while sources have said City are yet to receive any formal bids for the England international.

Kyle Walker is free to exit Manchester City as there appears to be no way back for the Englishman into the first team.

The 35-year-old right-back spent last season on loan at AC Milan but the Serie A side decided not to turn it into a permanent deal.

Will Chelsea get their man?

Nizaar Kinsella, BBC Sport football news reporter, on what to expect at Stamford Bridge:

Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens is known to be a major target after Chelsea’s £42m bid was rejected on the first transfer deadline day.

The Blues will go away and regroup but are likely to bid again as they need a right-footed left winger in the squad. In terms of outgoings, take your pick.

Chelsea will be busy selling this summer and have to offload Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, Renato Veiga, Christopher Nkunku and many more.

Striker dilemma for Arsenal

Alex Howell, BBC Sport football news reporter, on the Gunners’ transfer activity:

Arsenal have been one of the most talked-about clubs in the transfer market without actually completing a deal.
